Chimp Bowl delusion
Chimp slappies are hoping to get Navy, Florida State, or Louisville.

This team is not as good as last years team that got hammered by 50 in Miami. Navy would run for 400 yards on them. Louisville beat Cuse by 40, Cuse beat CMU by 30.

The objective of a bowl is to use it to build on, not to get killed by a “name” opponent.

RE: Chimp Bowl delusion
I agree, they are delusional.

However, they earned that right by overcoming their own costly turnovers and mistakes to make the necessary adjustments and rally in the 4th quarter to beat WMU.

As a result, WMU's Cannon Trophy is now in Bonamego's bed...

Lester should post that pic in the locker room for all players, and coaches, to see.

CMU likely gets another G5. Could even be 6-6 team

Probably Idaho or Alabama-bound, but I'd rather see them get smoked by a P5 honestly. It would give me more enjoyment. 03-cloud9

I always support the MAC in non-conference games, particularly against P5 foes (and always-always against the likes of vile ScUM and MSU) because "A rising tide lifts all boats." However, I didn't cry, and did slightly snicker, watching CMU-Tulsa last year.

I can never root for them in any scenario.

More often than not, it is in WMU's best interests to have CMU win non-conference games (i.e. the MSU wins and Oklahoma State). It is that "rising tide" thing.

Disagree. Especially if we're directly recruiting against them.

I'd be willing to accept the argument that it helps the "conference" somewhat as a whole, but CMU beating Oklahoma St. has zero benefit to us. Same with Michigan State... in fact it probably hurts us.

We don’t recruit against them. Bono has given up on the Midwest other than a bunch of meaningless offers on 2019-2020 recruits who will all end up with P5 offers.

Talk all you want about WMU's alleged recruiting superiority, but the Cannon Trophy is in Bonomego's bed! Results > Ratings.

The first thing Lester will need our graduate assistants to do after we beat CMU next fall is bleach scrub that thing. Eeeew.

Dear Hoekjeness,
I'm with you. I cannot root for them under any circumstances. They were lucky to win the last few games, and think they're the best thing since sliced bread. If, george14 reads what I just said, he'll be here to tell me how wrong and stupid I am. I can't wait.

We endured 5 years of Dan Enos mediocrity and the last couple years of Bono have been less than stellar at .500. Not sure where you come off saying we’re the best thing since sliced bread, our fan base has been very critical of the past years. But, hey, if it makes the Hurons better, nothing like revisionist history.

I think it's the CMU forums (not here, elsewhere) that projects that persona.

Have you tried reading their new forum? On my 6+ 3/4 of the screen is taken up by ads/banners, if you scroll through it it invariably takes you to a another site. You can’t flip through pages, but instead must scroll through 50 posts to get to the most recent one. Makes this hole seem navigable.

I won't root for the Chips but I will watch that game. Could be lots of points. Wyoming's QB is legit.

Sorry, I root for CMU whenever they play OOC. It benefits the MAC when ANY of us win OOC.
I hate them every other day of the year, though. And twice as much on our game days.

I wouldn't root for CMoo if they were playing North Korea.

I wouldn’t root for CMU if Luke Skywalker was the QB and Princess Leia was the TE’s sister!
