I agree with Bronc33, this is a winnable game for WMU. The strength of WMU is Toledo's weakness as evidenced by the Ohio game. Goddard just needs to keep the defense honest. Also, WMU's defense has to stop the big plays. The other intangible is WMU is playing to solidify a bowl game.

WOW: that is an amazing stat....what is NIU's all time series record vrs CHIPDIPS? This goes way back to college division play for both programs....
NIU 23 CMU 28 1 tie
That is an amazing record but the overall record against CMU having an edge doesnt surprise me knowing how NIU struggled for so many decades. Maybe the only team NIU has a winning record against is EMU? Where are those stats?

51-5 can't be right with 4 losses to CMU. We have lost the last two to Turd and to WMU last year.

The 5 losses don't include CMU.

14 years since Turdledo has won the MAC west. Keep those moral victories going.

Yea, and your athletic department laid a giant "turd" ,as you say, marketing the program afterward. You guys certainly have the designation of what I see as an epic failure to continue momentum with fans.

Are you serious? There is no chance any other MAC fan base focuses so much on another team then NIU fans of Toledo. I have never heard of one NIU fan ever having a bad experience at our games or with our fans but the naming calling and hating of Toledo has gone on for years. You just dont see Toledo putting up NIU threads on our board. Its the strangest thing I have ever seen. Yes, we give BGSU a hard time, but thats about it.

True. It's like they all went on vacation for months after the Orange Bowl.

What were they supposed to do? Football is a very "what have you done lately" business. The Orange Bowl put us on the map, but it's fading away in the rear view mirror. Winning against the P5 teams gives credibility. Credit to the staff for the 2018 OOC schedule. It may be tough, but it gives more gravitas than opening up against Presbyterian.
Had we done back-to-back BCS Bowls we would have taken a major step forward, but we wet the bed in the MACC against BGSU.

Oh, maybe some marketing to keep the sizzle going and increase season ticket sales? Immediately after the OB was the time to market like crazy. There was nothing. Not a peep.
