Agreed... we would have had a **** crowd, lost money, and likely got killed like last year.

Probably a blessing for NIU. It would have been financially iffy and we would most most certainly gotten embarrassed in the game.

Our coaches can continue to focus on recruiting, and getting beat 70-7 in the bowl game would not have helped that. Plus the pundits would have been mocking us again. Let's continue to regroup and come back strong next year.
Agreement with everyone above. Getting everyone back on campus, arranging housing, meals, then travel arrangements for way too many administrators, staff, cheerleaders (band?), etc., plus more housing, meals, coupled with bowl's ticket purchase requirements, minus whatever portion we would have gotten -- NO ONE ON HERE CAN EXPLAIN THE MAC'S BOWL PAYOUT PROCEDURE....one slice per each member, three slices for league office, two slices for participating school, etc.? -- would have been the equivalent of putting your monthly paycheck on one roulette wheel number.
Here's a suggestion NIUfilmmaker, go to the game wearing Huskie gear and I'm sure you'll get on camera because it will give the TV talking heads a perfect excuse to mention the "what if" scenario should Minnesota not have played. Then you and like-minded folks can argue with proverbial PJ hater DogPoundNorth on the value of "exposure" when the Huskies are mentioned during someone else's bowl game. As a side bonus, keep your receipts NIUfilmmaker and total up how much you spent, then put that amount into a 2017 Christmas Club account and you can use it for the next time we've earned a bowl invitation.
