If you remember we did the same thing when we upgraded our board.

Your board is slightly bigger than our current one... our new one will be 50% bigger than that.

And we are keeping the smaller one

What matters more is that the structure compliments the stadium to enhance the game day experience for those who attend. I was just curious for accuracy's sake, more than anything. For example, the one at Auburn does not look good, because it looks awkward with its massive size stretching more than the entire length of the endzone. The four boards at Bryant Denny or the modest sized one at Neyland Stadium, fit those venues well.

Just to help you see how big it is, this picture was taken from the road outside of the South Endzone Gates. The video board in the picture is being mounted all the way in the North Endzone on top of the new facility.

Also to put this into perspective, Appalachian State currently has the largest video board in the G5 at 2,500 sq. ft. of video space (according to Daktronics). Troy's video board will have 3,150 sq. ft. of video space, which will be the largest in the G5 by a lot, and probably top 30 out of all college football stadiums.

This thing is bigger than it looked in renderings.

Coming along nicely! The dark shaded area of the scoreboard is the size of our existing video board in the south endzone.

The black box inside the cardinal box is how big the current Video board we have is compaired to the new one.
The current one is only slightly smaller than the one stAte has

We will keep both boards and the other one is in the other endzone

Bump... added a picture of our current video board to give everyone a better idea... double the size of it lol

Not to sound arrogant. But when this is done there’s gonna be some separation in Troy and everyone else’s facilities when it comes to nicest stadium in the league IMO.

Ps I include GSU in that. Stadium is a baseball set up and too big for you’re current needs.

LOL GSU Stadium went through 1st upgrade phase of 5 (nvm the new basketball convocation center and baseball stadium that will be built right next to the stadium). Drastic upgrades are still coming. Too big? It's not like we're gonna be in the SunBelt forever. App is also putting up a new mega video board. Ark State will upgrade their stadium. So is Georgia Southern. Troy's stadium will be nice but cmon.

I'm cool with Troy's shameless plug. In fact, I like looking at the pretty pictures to see the progress. The endzone upgrade is indeed nice.

But you can brag about your own stadium without nitpicking other stadiums with imaginary problems. Our stadium sucks because it's TOO big? well, that's a first. Our stadium sucks because it still has a baseball set up? well of course, we barely started the renovation! We wouldn't be spending hundreds of millions of $$$$ if we thought Turner Field was perfect.

I don't even know why you singled out our stadium. And if you say it was because I posted the pic of our stadium, I only posted that pic to disprove the incorrect claim here that Troy will have the biggest video board in SBC. I'm sure Troy's video board will show some kickass HD quality videos but definitely not the biggest.

For what it's worth, I really like the look and feel of your stadium. It looked really sharp on TV when we played you guys. The only drawback to having a stadium that's "too big" is that it will always look empty on TV. Though, I have to say, ESPN has been doing a better job about not showing empty seats.

Was at GSU Stadium for the Troy game. I'm assuming the right outfield seating will be demolished? Besides that, I think the stadium looks great and has really good seating views. I ventured over to the home side to watch some of the game and it looked great.

I think there is a lot of potential with that stadium and location. Probably makes Georgia Tech a little jealous.
