George Takei, best known for his role in “Star Trek,” was accused Friday of sexual assault by a former actor and model, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Scott R. Brunton said the incident occurred in 1981 when he was beginning his career in Hollywood.

Brunton claimed he “passed out” in a beanbag chair in Takei’s apartment and when he regained consciousness, he allegedly found himself in a compromising position.

"The next thing I remember I was coming to and he had my pants down around my ankles and he was groping my crotch and trying to get my underwear off and feeling me up at the same time, trying to get his hands down my underwear," Brunton told The Hollywood Reporter. "I came to and said, 'What are you doing?!' I said, 'I don't want to do this.'”

Takei has been a huge critic of Trump. That is his right. It is also the right of the man he is accused of sexually assaulting to come out and tell about that attack.

How could you possibly know that for a fact? I don't know if there was or wasn't, but I am sure open that it could have happened unless there is proof the accuser is lying.

Look at the story of Anthony Edwards I just posted. I think it is easy to understand why this coming out about being sexually attacked by so many people is happening. They have carried these horrible memories of being sexually assaulted, but were either scared or ashamed to come out about the attacks. Well, there truly is comfort in seeing so many coming out now and they feel emboldened to share their terrible stories also.

Easy to understand to me why so many are coming out. Unfortunately this atmosphere of so many coming forward with there stories does make it easier for someone to come out with false stories about attacks that haven't happened. Still no reason to not applaud the courage of those that have honestly come forth with the stories of horrible attacks on them decades ago.

When a hack at the wapo publishes them 4 weeks before a senatorial election I call BS.

Each case is different of course.

There are philosophical and ethical reasons for statutes of limitstions. The concept is so fundamental it can be traced to early Greek law.

Who knows but assuming someone is guilty of a heinous crime without proof is a not right.

I'm consistent. I can't believe it when a lefty is being accused and disbelieve it when a GOP politician is being accused with the same lack of evidence. And frankly, as the father of a son, I hate all of this. I don't want a society where he can be ostracized just because he is successful and some bimbo wants her 15 minutes of fame. At some point politics go out the window and parenting kicks in.

Funny story, really....

My assumption is you had a young, naive person seeking to find a break in the tough world of Hollywood, and Sulu, like many of the "established" in Hollywood tried to take advantage of the young actor. To me the issue isn't even about sexuality but about the predatory nature of the dark side of Hollywood. The Weinstein case will go down as the watershed moment that exposed all of this hidden abuse of an institution that has been pampered and excused for far too long. I hope the walls crumble and that forsaken sign is removed and burned.

And its one of those both really drunk situations. He backed off when the guy said no.

Now given that Takei thought it was ok that the adult had sex with him when he was a minor, doing it while the guy was drunk doesn't seem like a stretch for him.
