The score of that game was closer than most college football fans expected. UMASS has a heck of a schedule and all home games played on the weekend. Nice accomplishment for an Independent. With NM ST going Indy next year that will add another team UMASS can schedule almost any week.

Quite a schedule they have:

USF and BYU at home (possible 2017 AAC champion)
Close by road games with BC & UCONN
At Georgia who should win the SEC East this year
at Ohio who will win the MAC Esat this year

Also scheduled their season kickoff on the last weekend of August, to give themselves a chance at getting the game nationally televised as few FBS teams start that weekend.

In 19 BYU returns to Foxborough, home game with UCONN
2 Big 10 teams on the road (Rutgers, closeby and winnable)
plus Northwestern
Closeby road game with Army.

Many MAC programs would want that schedule

UMass' improvement has been very nice to see. I wish there was room for them in the AAC ... especially if the new hoops' coach can right that ship.

UMASS is set up very nicely for 2018 and 2019. Great Indy schedule for them.

Still not sure if we'd be playing our 3rd string, second, or first string QB, but the field is just about ready. The weather will be cold and should be in the 20's by the second half.

Looks nice but the low seats down the right field line are going to suck. The seats are too low and you won't be able to see the game because the players will be in the way. Ran into that problem years ago in the Vet in Philly when I purchased tickets on the 50 yard line for an Eagles game. Ended up moving to the upper deck in the sun by the scoreboard in the second half to see the game better. The seats on the Green Monster might be interesting even though they are pretty far away. 04-cheers

According to the seating charts, both teams will be on the far side of the field (monster side). This is what they did for the Shamrock Series game.

That will help quite a bit but fans will still be standing in the lower seats to see to dodge the media people if the game is on TV. Anyway enjoy its a nice venue. I took my family to Fenway last year to see the Red Sox. Enjoyed the venue and the touring the city while we were their. 04-cheers

All UMass games are on TV, however this game is on NESNPlus versus NESN National. The game is also on FIOS and DirectTV via Elevensports and streamed by UMass free to everyone outside of New England.

Looks like my tickets are high enough in R.F. Box 97 row PP but will be seating elsewhere for the game.

Will be interesting to see who plays at the QB position. Whip does not give away that information.

I like the uniform…. UMASS should consider wearing it more than just once (you are the "Minutemen"). It could help improve the image of its program—which might get noticed by The American when future realignment occurs. UMASS still has other issues to address; however, I think its football program is headed in the right direction ^ 04-cheers

Nice idea, however UMass is putting the uniforms up for auction.

Quote:UMass has put 100 of the uniforms up for auction -- with proceeds set to be split between on-campus military and veteran groups, along with the Gridiron Club.

Honestly, considering the weather, their record, and their opponent (UMaine is kinda far from Fens, so they didn’t get too many people), I think there was a pretty solid crowd last night.
~13,000 were in attendance.

Since the break of the 0-6 start, UMass is 4-1 with the lone loss to #16 rranked Mississippi State. We were in that game as well.

UMass 16 at BYU 10.

The team is finally learning how to win. 04-cheers03-cloud9

UMass needs to beat FIU to be one of the lucky ones with 5-7 record going to the bowl game this year.

Wish, our APR is too low, but so happy that we are finally winning!
