Yea, Just like we didn;t deserve to be in the playoffs in 2005

I don't think we deserve to play in a bowl game..... but that's more the bowl system's problem than my poor fandom.

Then don't go if we are invited. The rest of us won't miss you.

My point was missed. But I think your defensive sentiments are warranted based on everyone being emotional right now.
Our defense is one of if not the worst in FBS, but we do have tons of injuries and are playing about 5 true freshmen on D, several of whom are starting. Our offense is far from one if the worst in FBS. Probably rank top 25 in FBS and close if not the top in the SBC. We are young and tons of injuries. Hopefully we are much better next year. Evans and Green are ballers.

Five true freshmen did not play on defense. M Clark and Tim Frizzell were the only true freshman who saw time on defense and Clark is a bit misleading since he played for Naval Academy prep a year ago, We started 5 seniors, 3 Jr's & 3 soph's on defense. According to the participation report the other defensive players who saw action were 5 RS Freshmen 2 Soph's & 2 Jr's. Most of those saw action on coverage teams.

AppManDG,

You have several times demanded respect for being older and more experienced than most of the posters here. I think Trout deserves at least that same respect, too, considering the sacrifices he has made in many, many tours of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Trout strikes me as a good guy and his service speaks for itself. I thunk he deserves better than, "The rest of us won't miss you."

To begin with his service to our country, for which I am extremely grateful, has nothing to do with it. Besides, we straightend that out and quite frankly he was far more understanding about my comments than you. These young men put in a ton of hard work and if they win 6 games to become bowl eligible who's business is it to say they don't deserve to play in one?

I've never demand respect from anyone because of my age and experiences. I have forged a lot of contacts over the years and am privy to information and insights a lot of people are't. I get irritated at people who state something as fact when I know it isn't. If you think that is me demanding respect, you are cnfused.

My apologies. It's late and I've been on several boards squashing the myth that our injury situation is the reason we lost. Everyone has injuries this time of year and ULM has been hit far worse than we have. That isn't why App lost this game.

are you aware that we've now lost to two of the worst FBS programs in the country in 7 days? two of the worst programs in FBS history and given up 82 points in doing so?

We haven’t looked good but those are absolutely not 2 of the worst FBS programs this year. Not close. They have both been in every game they’ve played this year. UMASS hung around with a ranked SEC team today.

UMass since turning FBS in 2012 12-56 (17.6%). Care to guess how many of those were against FCS/1-AA teams? One of the 12 is us.

ULM since turning FBS in 1994 is approx 95-171 (35%) with ONE bowl and only 4 winning seasons. How many of those wins are 1-AA/FCS teams?

Can you find me two WORSE FBS programs to lose to in one week?

Let me try to put in another perspective that App fans may better understand: If we were still FCS, this is equivalent to losing to VMI and ETSU back to back.

You need to stop making comments while you're drinking. UMass has played a tough schedule and had a ton of injuries early in the year. Their biggest loss is by 11 points today to #16 Miss State. They lost to Tenn by 4 then and their other were by 10, 10, 9 & 8

I haven't had a drink since before I left to serve 13 months in East Africa, but thanks for thought. I'll stand by my statements, and not make excuses.

No, us losing to VMI and ETSU in FCS is like Bama, UGA, or Clemson losing to UMass and ULM. We were 1 of the top dogs in FCS ... totally not the same with App in FBS.

This though by some of us fans that App is some dominate FBS program and a couple upset loses is the sign of our downfall is getting annoying.

That’s an absurd statement. For the record we have won National Championship and beaten way more P5 schools than you. Maybe if Alabama said that when we beat them, but not App. With that said you guys are a top tier SBC team and I have a lot of respect for your program, but don’t disrespect us. For the record most App fans have been very gracious and respectful after this game.

This App State loss may just light a fire under Troy now that their primary goal is attainable again.

Biggest thing this week did was essentially give us a year early preview of what an SBC Championship Game would look like.

Perhaps even the great Karl Benson will make an appearance that week. Probably wearing a disguise for fear someone recognizes him.

I'm glad you have abstained from strong drink. To me your comments still appear to have come from someone not fully focused. I don't bnelieve in insulting other teams. Their players want to win just as badly as ours, sometimes more. Records can be deceiving based on the maturity of young players and injuries. In SB play ULM is averaging 41 ppg and giving up 39. Most every game is a shoot out. Mobile QB's give Nate Woody's system trouble. Crap, they give everybody's system trouble. Remember how a guy named Edwards destroyed defenses? Sorry, but I don't like Chicken Little fans. The sky is not falling. The program is not in disarray. We are not healthy in some critical positions, but we will be fine. Upsets happen, teams get into a funk from time to time. I'm more concerned with the trash talking and undisciplined play than anything else. I don't like the image we are portraying.

Why should Carl fear anyone.

A-State get mouthy from time to time, and he has to smack them around, and put them in their place, but there is no fear involved on Carl's part. Maybe there should be on the part of A-State.

Once he gets UALR football up and going, and for all intents and purpose ends their program, he can retire......undefeated.

App will lose at least one more SBC game, and Troy/Ark St will be the championship game - time for App fans to embrace reality. We don’t have the line play we had in years past.

While that could be the likely reality, if we can gut one out on the short week we get almost 15 days to heal up for the last two contests. I like our odds with a healthy motivated team to win out.
