I think we beat this team. They only know what's been written about us.

At the very least it will be a moral victory.

Some wouldn’t like that happening

I highly doubt anyone on this board is rooting for the Tigers to lose just to prove some point.
Maybe you’re right.

I highly doubt certain posters will admit they were wrong if they turn out to be wrong.

I'll wait until March to find out. You with me?

You should at least wait and get the points.

Huh

If you are calling for a straight up win, I'm sure vegas will have Memphis around +5, so take the +5 as extra insurance when you bet. Or use that 5 on a teaser for another game.

I gotcha but I don't bet

You make a good point. What I do know is we have some talent on this team. And if one likes Tiger basketball, I’d encourage that person to go watch em. They will find out we’re actually fun to watch.

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Auburn announced Thursday morning that it will hold out sophomore basketball players Danjel Purifoy and Austin Wiley to start the season to "avoid any potential eligibility issues,” as the Tigers are tied to an ongoing FBI investigation on the corruption in college basketball.

Alabama is also tied to the FBI investigation as former staffer Kobie Baker resigned from his position of associate athletics director in September after Alabama held an internal review of the men’s basketball program.

Later Thursday, Alabama basketball head coach Avery Johnson was asked whether or not all his players were eligible to start the season. The head coach replied with a rather vague response.

“We’re moving forward with the roster that we have, and that’s all I’ll say about that,” Johnson said. “I’m not going to comment on another school, but our team we’re moving forward with the roster that we have.”...

Didn't sound vague to me. AL is playing who they have on the roster.

Uh, ok.

Instead of saying, "of course everyone will be playing," he says "we're moving forward with the roster that we have."

Because "the roster he may have" might be different a week from now. And he would still be telling the truth.

So far USCw and Aubrun have both kept players out. Now GT is keeping players out.

another way to look at it...is not tipping his hand to his next opponent...Memphis on who will be playing.
That would make the Tigers spend more time on who to defend...and how to defend them than it would than if Memphis knew definitely who was going to play for Alabama.

It would be nice if the networks would put our games on TeeVee more, so the sports bars on this coast would have them available.

I did get two of the three bars here to up their satellite packages.

Memphis Tiger converts baby. Dilly Dilly!

This will be a tough game even without one of their players.

The UNC exhibition was a moral victory. I don't think those count for much in the regular season, but an early season one would tell us a bit more good about the team. So many unknowns right now.

I remember when St. Louis almost beat us back 08 in one of these "secret" scrimmages... lmao all they are is a good practice game or tune up...they don't mean squat about how good a team is going to be.

Well crap, I guess we won't be able to count this as a good win even if we do beat 'em -- just like South Carolina last year. But since we also lost our nearly-seven-footer, could we clap politely if we kick their @&&#$?

#1 school in the state for transfers. Read it on a billboard, which is at least as reliable as the interwebs.

I think our team will be a pleasant surprise this season. Not conference championship caliber but we will finish way higher then projected.

Tubby is a great basketball coach.
