The horn was pretty cool. But if they start doing it each home game, they wont be able to charge the port every time it goes off. Gotta get those ducats. 03-drunk

I wasn't at the game but saw a twitter post about the horn. I thought it was pretty cool (even though a howitzer shot after every score is what I would really want haha)

What is the deal with the cannon/howitzer shot? I feel like sometimes they do it. Sometimes they dont.

It's scheduled to go off twice a game. But if someone, usually from the other team, walks within a radius that has been set up they wont shoot it for safety reasons

The band is way more guilty of this than the PA system. They have got to learn to mute themselves whe we have the ball.

Disagree. The Music was at an obscene level at worst time. Band can be tuned out.

It’s like all three are fighting each other at once (music, band, and Jack Ankerson). Also, replay guy - please show replays of our good plays and those that may help us and not good ones of the bad guys or replays that may hurt us. Also, graphics guy - don’t put make some noise or get louder on the “Jumbotron” when we have the ball!

The sound system is horrible to listen to in 102/101. It seems like the announcer is always 1 play behind when announcing the special downs/situations.

So I paid a little more attention to the atmosphere for the WKU game. Here are my points, Band is way to quiet, cheerleaders are non existent (sad that they won a national championship and cant even get the crowd going on a basic cheer), graphics operator is clueless - he puts up the "Make Some Noise" display at the very worst times. We need that on the opposing teams first down and "LOUDER!" on third down. These are basic game concepts that ODU cant get right. Outside the limits of the playing surface, ODU officials have failed on pretty much every level to create a good game environment for the fans. I just am hoping they can change things with the new stadium

Anyone else noticed after DeMarco and TH ran around the field, TH was gasping for air on the sidelines bent over? My wife spent half the game admiring DeMarco nudging me asking why I dont look that good anymore 03-hissyfit

The biggest problem the band has is knowing when to play. Not every available moment of time needs to be filled with music. Like, don't play, at all, when we have the ball. Killing the stadium tour in the second half would also go a long way to creating a more offensive-friendly environment. When we are on defense go nuts but seriously quiet down when we are on offense.

The graphics problem is probably compounded by the scoreboard being run out of The Ted. At least that was the case when we started football.

Agree the teams entrance has always been weak. They should tighten up the people and band members closer to the game day building instead of stretching the band out to mid field. Get the cheerleaders, flaggers and big blue under the game day building. Keep the team from being seen until big blue, flaggers, smoke and music come out from under the game day building. The entrance seemed better the last few years.....for some reason this years has always seemed to be timed poorly....
