I have none of the passion you have for us, this is likely the first time this game has mattered at all other than the year we had the chance to deny you the bcs game. Every other game has been completely meaningless. How one can pretend there is a fierce rivalry given those conditions is very forced.
Its great that all 3 of us are ranked, though it doesn't really matter at this point. There are no other contenders for the NY6 in the G5, Memphis will make the final and barring a collapse the winner of usf ucf will get the other spot. Whoever wins that goes to Atlanta. No matter what happens none of us will make the playoff, even a 3 loss Clemson (or Bama, though them losing 3 is about as unlikely as an aac team in the playoff) likely finishes ahead of us.
Just enjoy the season and keep winning.
I don't post often and don't want to start a big to-do (I don't come around often enough to participate in a big to-do anyway), but you guys must have some serious denial or amnesia going on over there in west Florida to ask this question.

An awful lot of UCF fans and alumni have very unpleasant memories of USF that go a lot deeper than mere success or failure against you guys on the field or on the court. As a whole, a lot of us don't like you because you tried to hinder the growth of our program. To many, this was (and continues to be) an unforgivable, hostile act on your part.
These are generational fan grudges that don't just go away in a handful of years.
Even though we are now conference brethren and will fight alongside you for the good of the AAC, we are always going to want to stick it to you and lord things over you when we can, and we will always measure our dicks against yours anytime ours is longer. We're going to needle the hell out of you if we beat you at tiddlywinks.
Coming from a generally genial UCF alum, my opinion is that you're just going to have to put up with dick comparisons at every turn from UCF and accept that this is the way things are at this point in time and for the foreseeable future.

There's a whole lotta black and gold colored glass wearing that went into that. While we've all heard that Judy Genshaft wasn't an advocate for adding UCF to the Big East, let's not forget that:
UCF made the decision to prioritize football and neglect all of their other sports, which is why their basketball team was left to rot in the American South conference, and when they merged that conference with the Sun Belt, stepped
down to the TAAC (now the Atlantic Sun), making it virtually impossible to be considered for an all sports membership in a major conference.
Damn near bankrupted the entire athletic program before bringing in Gene McDowell, who righted the ship before having to be forced out over a cell phone scandal.
Eschewed a football-only invitation to Conference USA because they were waiting for something better, then joined the MAC but embarrassed themselves with several cocky statements.
Tried to force a USF game when USF was still I-AA, then whined about it in the press. When they finally forced the games to be played as USF's payment to Conference USA, laid 4 giant eggs.
Had an athletic director forced to resign because he lied to the NCAA about recruiting.
But go ahead and blame everything that's happened to UCF on USF stunting your growth.
