That's pretty unlikely, but I would say our chances of keeping 3 in the rest of the year are better than 50%. All 3 teams currently in the poll have pretty manageable schedules remaining aside from the USF-UCF game.

And the ccg. Memphis probably drops out with a loss in the ccg.

So I guess we better win it, then. To help out the conference. 04-cheers

Meh. Just keep winning

I agree with No Bull

I know one additional L will kick Memphis out of the ranks but I expected the tigers at 21

Hopefully UCF/USF move up some more before they meet. I don't think the loser of the UCF/USF game should drop that much but you never know. The winner if undefeated (winning the ccg) might get in the top 10 depending on who loses above them. Very good possibility all 3 will be ranked at the end of the season. And if Navy could beat ND..wow. Should be an interesting finish.

B/c we only beat Houston by 4 and had to rally to do it? That was Houston's SECOND home loss in FIVE seasons.

I think Memphis got a bit robbed to be honest... Never mind y'all won by 4 but winning at Houston isn't a cakewalk.

You guys have a couple of stud players I like that will represent Memphis well a few years more.

Congrats on yall's W

Thanks. That was an exciting game, although I understand why UH fans don't feel so thrilled about it right now. You guys have a great team. Nothing to be ashamed of. I actually think that win was our best, b/c we did it on the road.

I think these are pretty fair rankings. If I had to guess, I'd say the playoff committee won't be as favorable. I could see them ranking us: UCF #20, USF #21, and Memphis #25 or unranked.

Most pollsters think if you're G5 and you lose a game, you suck. Even if you beat 2 Top 25 teams and your only loss is to a higher ranked team.

I know you love picking on USF and it’s schedule but the same can be said about Wisconsin and they are way higher than USF. One USF loss and they’ll drop like a rock.
Instead of clamoring so much against a fellow conference member rank you should be more upset against those outside of conference.
Memphis wins west they will want the highest ranked UCF or USF team possible.

You guys are just the most obvious example since we are both consider outside the P5. Don’t get sensitive on me here. I am just baffled at these voters.

I’m not sensitive about it. USF is were we are because of last years success and what we returned which gave us a leg up with preseason ranking
I didn’t create that. As I said there are even bigger targets such as Wisconsin at #6
I root and I want as many AAC teams ranked and I figure UCF next year will get same benefits as USF got this year with a High preseason ranking

Same voters who had FSU just outside the Top 25 after their 0-2 start. They sure did get that right...

Geez man is this not getting through to you. Wisconsin is a P5. I already know their ranking is a joke but they get benefit of the doubt from voters because they play in a P5. USF is the example I am using because Memphis has a good resume for a non power 5. We should at least be ranked in both polls by now if you look at our body of work compared to other non P5s in the rankings.

Not rooting against you just trying to say Memphis should get the benefit of the doubt in these rankings as a non-P5.

And what I am trying to explain to you is that only ONE nonP5 will get the benefit of a preseason rank. That team this year was USF due to previous year success and what it returned. Next year it will probably be UCF.
Few nonP5 will be ranked.
Anyways I’m done with this. It resolves nothing I don’t vote and neither do you so nothing will change

#5 Wisconsin has to be the biggest joke in the rankings...

Wins vs:

Utah State
FAU
BYU
Northwestern
Nebraska
Purdue
Maryland

Remaining Schedule:

Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Michigan (NR/#25)
Minnesota

Dodged Michigan St, Penn State, and Ohio State...

RIDICULOUS.

RE: AP Poll- S.Florida 17, UCF 18, Memphis 24
As long as the top 3 avoid upsets, the AAC will have 2 top 15 (maybe top 10?) and a top 20 in mid November. That’s crazy. The UCF/USF game will definitely pit two top 15 teams and possibly 1 or both will be top 10. The media will begin talking about the winner as a possible playoff buster. If the East and West teams win all their favored games, and the East champ is undefeated, it will likely pit a top 8 team vs a top 15. Still a lot of football to play and some big assumptions being made, but it could be a special year for the AAC.
