Thanks, and well done to Tulane, you guys never came close to quitting, heck you played your most inspired ball when you were way behind. Great comeback, feel very lucky to escape Yulman with the W.
Good luck the rest of the season!

Some of both? Tulane can beat anybody, or lose to anybody. But they play well at times, just usually not for 60 minutes.
As for USF, they are quite good, but perhaps closer to Memphis than to UCF right now.
I think the top 3, in order, are obvious right now:
1. UCF
2. USF
3. Memphis
I think you are right given how the teams have played. The East will be decided Friday after Thanksgiving so tanking would mean nothing until then.
Let’s just see if all three can run the table until then, not a given if any of the three has an off game.

Our field goal kicking game was abysmal. A blocked XP, a blocked short FG, and a badly missed 47-yarder.
A poor FG kicking game can be masked when a team is scoring 5-6 touchdowns every game, but going forward, when we play teams like UCF this could be the difference, heck, when we play Houston this week. We have to get our field goal kicking unit rolling, yesterday.

Actually it was interesting that the kicking game seemed to have fixed itself before yesterday. He had 13 fgs in a row until yesterday and I agree it was horrendous. I’m concerned about how the team seems to lose focus in games

The "angry wave" on the scoreboard emits a kind of fog, and fireworks go off.
Also, at the end of the game, above the scoreboard they had about a 5-minute fireworks display, seriously, these fireworks kept going and going. Scary at first, because they were so close when you first heard them it sounded like maybe someone was firing a machine gun. But it was an impressive display.
Walking towards the parking garage with a bunch of Tulane fans, i asked them "what do you guys do when you win"? And they all laughed.
I made sure I went, because IIRC, with Tulane being in the other division, it might be 4 or so years before we play at their place again. I forget the exact scheduling cycle ...

Yes, I think ours should be just a bit bigger. There's is not an erector set, the seats i sat in were plush and cushy, there were box suites, the scoreboard was cutting edge, and there was a nice selection of food and drinks. And it doesn't have a large footprint, tidy and efficient design.

I used to think bigger but with college football becoming more and more a made for tv event and even the top schools having issues with filling stadiums. I now think the way to go is a smaller more fan centric stadium.

It definitely is fan-centric. I'd guess there were maybe 23,000 people at the game yesterday (including a pretty impressive contingent of Bulls fans). In the Superdome, that would have been a deflator, because the vast bulk of that cavernous arena would have been empty. But in Yulman, that meant that about 3/4 of the stadium was full, and it created a great atmosphere.

You're right. It's a two year H&H for 3 crossovers, and 2 more years H&H for the other 3, so you get a crossover away game once every 4 years.

If you get the "erector set" stadium make sure you buy the extended warranty. UCF wanted something built fast that looked good. Apparently longevity was not a priority.

I make fun of the 'erector set' at UCF quite a bit, and it is too bad about the corrosion, but still, much of what motivates my comments is envy. Bottom line is, warts and all, you guys do have an OCS, and i wish we did.

Yeah I agree. The money is in TV, the best thing the stadium does is provide atmosphere.
I think a good example we should be looking at (cfb in general) is European soccer. A lot of those stadiums are very small, 20-30k, but provide a terrific atmosphere so it comes across well on TV. Love the idea of the crowd being very close to the field
