That time again: Cajuns at AState discussion thread
Over under on Unsportsmanlike Conduct fouls is 5.5 as the Cajuns head to Jonesboro for the annual brouhaha with Arkansas State. Series has developed into a pretty big rivalry on the field, and has included everything from fights, to ejections, to coaches going at each other. And rope...lots of rope.

Last years encounter had the unique element of both teams celebrating thinking they had won the game on the final play. Cajuns won as an AState Game winning touchdown on the last play was correctly overturned on review.

Historically, this series has been dominated by the home team. In the last 25 years, the visiting team has won twice.

That home field advantage for both teams is impressive.

Had to watch that with my rube in-laws who didn't believe me when I kept telling them that TD would be over-turned. 05-mafia

It's going to be very physical with a hard edge.....these teams flat out don't like each other.....as an added bonus neither do the Coaching Staffs.....this is our rivalry game and I wish that our AD's would officially designate it so....come up wits a trophy.....

what you mean "keep it close", we will win! records don't matter, rivalry brings out all sort of things in these players. usually Louisiana handles the environment better.

I suggest a gigantic golden trophy in the shape of Arkansas and Louisiana...or has that been taken already?

Hey I get the confidence...but I'm not sure any visiting team can enter a game in this series expecting to win anymore. It's ridiculous the level the home team dominates right now.

Well this A-State team is better than they were last year after five games time but it does not appear to have come close to reaching its potential, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

They are strictly a big-play team especially offensive.

ULL seems to be a little better than last year after six games, and like last year they really look like a blue collar type team. They just grind away.

We could name it "the boot". Or something like that.

stAte opens as a 12.5 to 13 point favorite depending on where you are looking. It'll be interesting to track the movement on this one over the course of the week.

Sort of lame unless you make it weigh about 8 tons. You want a trophy that will crush someone to death if they drop it. Makes it more interesting.

Since we are supposed to be baby brothers in our respective states we could call it "the baby boot". Yeah I am disgusted with me for typing that!

That seems about right, and should be pretty steady.

Looking at the replay of the Coastal game it looks like the interior of A-State's DL is finally coming together and playing well. If they do play up to their hype, A-State's defense is going to get very good in a hurry.

On offense their OL is already better than it was last year, and there is no reason to believe they will not get better as the year goes along, and they are already a load on that side of the ball.

This team has a chance to be really outstanding.

Cajuns are only one of 5 teams perfect in the Red Zone this year.

Cajuns +13 is free money. Not that we couldn’t win 41-7 or something but we are way too inconsistent and undisciplined to run away with a game of similarly talented teams
