C'mon. Who have they played? Baylor is rebuilding with many freshmen starting & a new coach. They may not win a game this year. Plus Southern FCS program.

TXST has played on the road vs undefeated Colorado & almost beat the Sunbelt defending champs who are favored to win again.

Go figure...

Keep enjoying those low attendance numbers and NC losses at Sammy State.

An upset is beating a team rated higher than yours. No one is lost in knowing where we finished last year.

Good to see TT come out of his hole though.

Not sure that perception is real anymore but in the heads of CUSA fans...I guess in the purest definition of the word it would be an upset but I doubt sports center is leading off with this game if TXST wins...and pulls off an "upset"

Looking forward to this. Glad we are playing each other again. I think this game will be much closer than most people think. And yea, we caught a break on our OOC schedule this year compared to other years. It'll pick back up again next year.

Some are unfairly criticizing us for our schedule though. It's not our fault a hurricane forced the cancellation of our home opener against UH. And we scheduled Baylor long before any investigation was underway. I'm as pleased as you are though about the renewal of our rivalry with Texas State.

I was also happy we scheduled Southern. Their band alone made the game worth the ticket. And like you said, we've had brutal OOC schedules almost every year, so we owed it to ourselves to schedule a lighter fare this season.

RE: UTSA at TXST game thread
In no world is Texas State beating UTSA an upset. I would expect based on recent history of Texas State football for UTSA to be a slight favorite, even in San Marcos, but this game is very much a toss up.

Texas State is probably the best defensive team UTSA has faced. UTSA is probably the best offensive team Texas State has faced. Should be a good battle.

You mean you were trounced on the road by Colorado. FCS Northern Colorado gave the Buffs a better game than you did. You also left out the fact that Abilene Christian (another FCS) beat Houston Baptist (24-3) worse than you guys did. So out of your 3 games, it can be argued you've looked decent in one so far, which, let's be clear, was also still a loss, and the 21st in your last 27 games.

Watch the Colorado game before you talk about us being "trounced".

Really cool break down/analysis of Damian Williams and the TxSt oline. That banged up oline will need to be at their best against UTSA's pass rush

RE: UTSA at TXST game thread
Texas State has a much younger team than UTSA, especially on the offensive line.

In the two-deeps released by both teams yesterday:
TXST has 2 true freshman, 2 sophomores, and 1 junior starting on the offensive line. UTSA has 1 sophomore and 4 seniors starting on the offensive line.

Overall, UTSA has 19 seniors and 11 juniors in their two-deep. TXST has 8 seniors and 10 juniors.

UTSA offense > TXST defense
UTSA defense> TXST offense
I don't see TXST winning this. App didn't play like themselves and TXST did a good job at taking advantage of it but still lost. Even if UTSA has a bad game, I still don't see TXST squeaking out the victory.

I will be rooting for ole swt but I dont see them avoiding the beatdown unless the I-35 rivalry thing cancels out all the givens. utsa looks much better to me. they have size, good hands receivers, and their offense looks downfield and not at their own feet like some I know..not going to mention names...but you know who you are. if it was wurstfest weekend down there, this would a game to go to for sure..

No, he's implying that you like to think that any sunbelt team will beat any team, including #1 Alabama. He's saying you are unrealistic.

Yep.

UTSA is 13-24 the last 3 years.
APP is 28-10 in the last 3 years.

UTSA was 6-7 last season with one bowl loss.
APP went 10-3 last year and 11-2 the year before with two straight bowl wins in their first two years of bowl eligibility.

Until UTSA proves otherwise, all evidence points to APP being the superior team
