The #Bengals are expected to fire OC Ken Zampese, sources say. After two games without a touchdown, Zampese is out

Paul Dehner Jr.‏Verified account @pauldehnerjr · 5m5 minutes ago

QB coach Bill Lazor will take over as offensive coordinator. Lazor was an OC in Miami before landing in Cincinnati. #Bengals

Wasn't Lazor the OC with the Dolphins who got canned mid season and replaced by Zach Taylor? This will go well.

I told everyone here that Zac Taylor was Cincy's coach-in-waiting. I just didn't say for which Cincinnati team. 04-rock

Isn't Taylor the Rams Assistant to the Assistant Wide Receivers Coach now? Bengals might bringing him in as the QB Coach now that Zampese is gone.

Taylor is very familiar with the lateral passing approach, so he would fit right in.

I'd like to point out again that not only was John Ross a terrible pick but it came out that the bengals turned down a second round pick for mccarron. Gosh probably could have drafted a decent offensive linemen there too. But hey at least we have a good backup(maybe) and a good piece of trade bait next year(maybe).

Again...replacing Zampese won't solve the problem--if you go into armed combat equipped with a teaspoon....you're going to lose.

The tools are absent on the O-line....that's why they hold, and jump, and get beat...you can't coach size and speed.

Bodine and Ced are missing one or both of these vital assets.

They should trade for an O-line patch if they can ASAP.

Mike Florio just reported on NBC Sunday night football the Bengals had to fire Zampese because there was a near mutiny. Also said Dalton has some doubters in the locker room and some are saying why not Kaepernick?

I would so love for that circus to come to town.

Not sure who these "some are saying why not Kaepernick?", but I'd be very surprised if Mike Brown was one of them (same with Marvin, Katie, etc.) It also sounds like a bad idea to me fwiw. But I could see a "why not McCarron?" gaining some traction, perhaps very quickly if things don't change for the better.

They worked together for a long time. I'm sure they were close friends. It would suck to fire your friend.

Seemed completely reasonable from Marvin. What else could he say to the players? Time to go out and perform. maybe it won't matter, but it makes sense what he is doing. They need to make more plays that are there...need to run it better, need to protect Dalton and Dalton can't miss when he has something. Defense needs to keep playing well (though defense has not been tested against a really good offense yet).

Anyone think this team can go 0fer? If they don't patch the O-line, I honestly don't see how this team beats anyone on their schedule....

Firing Zampese will not work any magic. You have to have the tools to do the job. The O-line does not have the tools as currently configured.

I don't know how a guy can be declared a terrible pick after 1 game in which he received 1 touch? Come on. You're a more knowledgeable fan than that. Trust me, I get the frustration though.

I'm not saying John Ross is terrible, I'm saying the pick there should have been an offensive lineman.

RE: Bengals '17-'18
Today should be interesting. Especially after seeing Jacksonville completely dismantle a Ravens team who shut out the Bengals. The Packers are short handed, but this could get ugly quick.

I kept reading and hearing all week from all the pundits that the solution to the Bengals offensive woes is they need to get the ball to AJ Green more. IMO, I think the problem is the opposite. I think Dalton tries to get the ball to Green TOO MUCH. (Granted, that may have been Zampese's decision). I seen a stat last night that through the first 2 games, they have thrown the ball to Green more than the first 2 games in 2015.

Carson Wentz looks pretty good. They give time too. Pitt is luckiest team.

Seems like it could be an underdog day. Chi up on Pit. Carson Wentz outplaying Eli. Jax waxing Bal. Keenum outplaying Winston. NO beating Car. Cin winning at Lambaeu?
