2 thumbs up Subway
Have no idea what goes through the minds of today's athletes. Especially in sports which rely heavily on sponsors.

Joe Gibbs racing just lost a PRIMARY sponsor for the last regular season race due to it's driver not using that melon on top of his shoulders for something other than a hat rack.

Goes on a pre-race show and gets involved in a skit which promotes a COMPETITOR to his official car sponsor. Although ti was only a 4 race deal Subway laid out a few million to be on the side of the car and Suarez goes out and help promotes a competitor.

Moral of the story. If you're going to do a Breakfast with Daniel promotion before the race. Make sure you hand out your sponsors breakfast products and not it's competitors.

Just your kind of story. Even though it is 4 days old, you decide to post it because negativity is what feeds you.

You should have been at Darlington. Weather was excellent and Denny took care of business. I guess you watched it from the comfort of your recliner though. Nothing like actually going to a race. You should try it sometime.

Dude, you're glad that a sponsor is leaving the sport just because the driver screwed up? Sponsors leaving the sport is bad.

I'm guessing this has nothing to do with the driver's nationality.

You jump in a car that is 130 degress and make 500 laps at Bristol at speeds of 135 mph driving INCHES away from 39 other cars doing the same thing.

It's hilarious when I see a person who doesn't know what they are talking about prove it for everyone to see.

Subway inherited the driver when the previous driver suddenly retired. They had the option to leave then but I am sure they realized how it would look so they stayed on. They found a reason to bail and they did. The driver that made the mistake is very popular and has plenty of talent. I am sure he didn't realize he was stepping on toes. The bit with the donuts that got him in trouble even had the rest of his team in it. None of them sure didn't stop the shot from happening. Honest mistake that went wrong. The OP is happy because dwelling on the negatives is what he does best.

Welp they seem to start off in fairly good shape anyway.

Plus they are daredevils who like adrenaline rushes.

They kind of remind me of Smokejumpers, who aren't thought of as athletes, but jump from the air and parachute into burning flames. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smokejumper

No i believe that there is right and wrong and you must support what is right. Athletes believing that they are above the rules is a problem and anytime a stand is made against privileged athletes it is the right thing to do.

Do not want my sport to become like the others with performers who think that rules and laws do not apply to them.

Sometimes you need to learn a lesson the hard way.

I will put someone like Carl Edwards up against you in any sport you want to play and he will wipe the floor with you.

Castroneves would embarrass you with the way he would dominate you. How many ironman have you completed?????

Jenson Button triathlon here in Tennessee..

Dixon and Kanaan half triathlon.

Once again, negativity is all you know.

There is a right and a wrong. AND there are honest mistakes. If the Joe Gibbs organization knew about and participated in the bit, WHICH THEY DID because they were shown on camera, how it that an example of an athlete who feels like he above the rules? I am sure Daniel got caught up in the moment and the entire team just wasn't thinking about Duncan Donuts and Subway being competitors. You mentioned on another forum about a beer sponsored driver getting caught drinking the wrong beer. That is completely understandable. If Daniel had been asked to give away Lenny's or Firehouse Subs, he would have known that was a conflict. Joe Gibbs, unlike you, is an extremely intelligent person and I am sure his employees are just the same and made a mistake.

Now you can continue to surf the web for more negative minded information so you can post it on this and numerous other forums. That gives your miserable life meaning.

Once again you show that you do not know a damn thing about what you are talking . I NEVER mentioned that the driver was caught drinking the wrong beer and lost his sponsorship.

I DEBUNKED that story. I was a member of a chatroom with the driver's wife and she told me that it did NOT happen.

Of course why should facts get in the way of your usual rants. BTW are you STILL out there arguing with street maps????

Also as usual you make up crap. Gibbs did NOT know about the incident and was NOT involved in it in anyway.

[Joe Gibbs confirmed that the video was the reason behind Subway’s move.

“That’s my understanding. That’s what I’ve heard,” Gibbs told NESN. “It’s a surprise because we only heard about it (Saturday).”]

WE ONLY HEARD ABOUT IT SATURDAY!!!!!!!!

I never said Gibbs knew, I said the organization knew. Go back and watch the video. Daniels team drove by and stopped the van and I believe took some donuts. Mercy. You sit on the couch all day complaining, at least you could do is watch a race every now and then. I am sure the bit is on the web somewhere. Go watch it and see if the 19 TEAM didn't know the bit was being done.

So are people who play video games atheletes? The best gamers would kill anyone on this board in their game of choice...So because 99% of people cannot compete with them does that make them athletic.

We clearly have very different definitions of athlete.

I don't consider driving a car really fast in a circle to be an "athletic" competition.

If it takes endurance and physical fitness, quick reflexes and hand eye coordination to last 4 hrs in that car I would say he is an athlete.

Are bowlers athletes?

How bout table tennis players?

How bout curlers?

All 3 of those sports have been in the Olympics.
