Pass Protection Tonite...
Was it just me but it seemed like Ferguson never had a moment to set his feet and throw. Seemed like he was always running for his life. Does not bode well, unless I am missing something.

Any thoughts?

I will blame it on the rain. It's easy for people to slip off you in the rain.

The rain should not be an excuse. The other team didn't seem to have trouble protecting the qb. Execution is about attitude and focus.

RE: Pass Protection Tonite...
they could open holes but not pass block. Comparing size, their O-Line was gigantic in comparison to our d-line. But most of the trouble was with Smith, since he tucked the ball 50% of the times it seemed, which opened up the passing game for him late. I can't believe he didn't play the whole game. I think the score would have been even closer if he had!

Given the conditions it is hard to tell. Our run blocking was stellar.

Best run blocking I've seen on a tiger team. Much improved, based one one game.

I think we got theirs twice - they got ours once. It's hard to say in the conditions and the type of play-calling that resulted. Overall though, felt the o-line did a decent job.

ULM was one of the worst teams against the run in the nation last year.

And we did exactly what should be done against a poor run defense, run all up and down it...

Here's how our 4th went which shows you have no clue as usual:

sack
pass for 2 yards
incomplete pass
punt

4yd run
8yd run
4yd run
4yd run
fumble lost

2 yd run
2yd loss
3yd loss end the game

I assume you did not stay up for the 4th quarter...

I thought the same. But Riley is usually pretty quick to want to get outside the pocket. He seems to prefer to be on the move outside the pocket.

SIX let me repeat that SIX f'n yards total offense in the 4th quarter. They made adjustments and stopped us. Or maybe you think we sacked our self on that play? 1 first down the entire 4th quarter.

I doubt that they made adjustments. That's a combination of a bad play calling on the first drive, a drive that was going good then a turnover on second, and a normal stop on the 3rd drive. Defense might of let up because the game was in hand.

Yep. All we had to do is keep running, but we just couldn't stop ourselves from trying to pass.

Hey Stats Norsworthy, enough!!!

You commented NUMEROUS times last night about the minimal yardage gained by the Tigers in the 4th. We get it.

It's game 1! Adjustments will be made. Improvements will occur! All is well!!!!
