The individual 43-inch TVs above each locker is overkill. This isn't professional football. Think of all the good that could have been done with that money alone.

But if you can't pay players, programs have to invent ways to use the massive amounts of money they bring in. That's why you see fancy TVs in every locker in Texas, crazy facilities in other places, and Alabama paying its outside linebackers coach nearly $1 million.

University of Texas FB is more profitable than a number of NFL teams.
Longhorn Athletic Department revenues are moving toward $200 million. with about a 10% profit. The University's endowment is $24 Billion.
Btw, their Professors do ok salary wise, especially when you factor cost of living.

So, will they play better?

Those lockers are sick! Aside from all the bells and whistles, the lockers are really functional. I love the stand that the helmets sit on, drying and cooling them. That, along with the ventilation system is a really innovative idea. I'm telling you, helmets, pads and the locker room altogether, can get pretty funky.

The worst part of practices for me was getting my gear out of our "drying room", which I am certain had no ventilation and had a team's worth of gear still "drying" from the last practice... Marinating, more like it...

I hear you...I despised having to get back into my equipment during 2 a days...they may have dried everything after the 1st practice, but the shoulder pads, thigh pads, etc, were still soaked. Still freaks me out to think about it...automatically put you in an angry mood for the 2nd practice of the day.

When their players' parts start falling off because they haven't built up the necessary immunities and combative responses to bacteria, viruses, parasites, molds and bad smells, they can comfort themselves sitting at the locker watching old episodes of "Coach."
