RE: damn Dallas weather
We finally got a "cold" front to pass through Tulsa yesterday. Dropped us from upper 90's to 100 degrees with dew points over 70 to upper 80's with dewpoints in the 60's. Maybe it will make it to ya'll in Texas.

It's supposed to be in the high 80's with low humidity for the next week which is almost a miracle for August.

Wrong. Vegas and Phoenix major heat usually comes in June. The monsoon season "cools" it off some in July in August to the low 100s. Texas heat starts more slowly and builds up and culminates in late July and August especially. Right now, Vegas, Phx, and Texas are all about the same temperatures. It's running around 105 actual air temp all over Texas (heat indices are even hotter), which is actually hotter than Phoenix.

Is it humid there? Mid 60's is a pretty warm low, so I would think either humidity or cloud cover is keeping overnight lows up.

Not often - a couple humid days every few weeks or so. I've only put on the AC twice so far this summer.

It can get really hot in New England. Hit Vermont once at the Canadian border when it was 97. Generally nicer there, though.

Truth. I grew up in Dallas, and imo the summers there aren't remotely as miserable as they are in Houston.

The winters are more mild (usually) which kind of balances things out. I do like snow though!

Disclaimer: I don't view Oklahoma as really being the south, or even the midwest, or southwest. And I don't think anyone else does either. We're kind of just our own thing.

If you were part of the Confederacy, then you can consider yourself the South.

Of course if you weren't one of the Original 13 then I don't even consider you an American State. Just some sort of gypsy vagabond wannabes

You should never view texas and Oklahoma as the same, if it wasnt for us they'd be in the ocean and baja Oklahoma would be a real problem because $hit floats, and the gulf would be a sewer with literally a texass sized turd in it.

RE: damn Dallas weather
Having lived in both, Texas heat, in my opinion, is much worse than Florida heat. Dallas in July and August is like an ant under a magnifying glass
