It's obvious that she really didn't want an answer. She was going to claim that her group "didn't get responded to" so she had to stifle any answer that proved otherwise.

Nothing more than total grandstanding. I'll give you that both sides do it.

It boils down to members of Congress have an agenda - they want to promote their agenda, so they conduct public hearings which are often nothing more than making themselves the "stars" of theirs own shows.....
