Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas State football
Kansas City Royals

TIER 3:
Wichita State baseball
Kansas State basketball

TIER 4:
Wichita Wingnuts baseball
Wichita Thunder hockey
Wichita Wild indoor football

TIER 5:
My nephew's 3rd grade Biddy Basketball team

TIER 6:
KU football

I don't think you have KU Football low enough on the list. I would also add Sporting KC to tier 3

I feel like Camel Wrestling should at least be Tier 4. I'd pay good money to see it.

Depends on if you define the market as Wichita or Kansas area (including KC)

I define it as what's piped into the actual Wichita media coverage. MLS soccer is a non-factor and gets dangerously close to KU football relevancy, as it should.

Then correct, but if you include NE Kansas .. they get a lot of Sporting KC coverage.

But Wichita isn't in NE Kansas. Outside of the NFL and MLB, no other professional franchise is covered. Again, as it shouldn't.

You must live in KC. No one anywhere else knows what Sporting KC is. I thought this was supposed to be local. KU football west of Lawrence isn't even an after thought. In Wichita, WSU basketball is Tier 1, and everything is below.

For Greenville, specifically...

1) ECU football is king. No if's and's or but's about it.

2) ECU baseball is very popular, as well.

3) As for college basketball, I would wager (sadly) that there are just as many UNC, Duke, or NC State basketball fans as there are ECU fans... if not more. I'm not talking about ECU students or alumni necessarily.. but Greenville is more than just ECU folks.

Until ECU makes a major investment/effort in its basketball program, it will never even be the most popular program in its own city.

You obviously have no idea about the CT sports market. No one cares about any high school sport here.

If you want an unbiased answer to this for each of our schools, just go to the local sports radio station or newspaper sports page for the city they are in.

No ECU fans have mentioned our Woodies. They get coverage every day.

7) Dynamo soccer

8) Cougar basketball

9) Rice Owl football

10) Cougar baseball

11) Houston Dash soccer

12) Rice Owl baseball

13) Texas Southern football

14) Rice Owl basketball

15) Houston Track & Field

16) Houston Baptist sports

17) Sugar Land Skeeters (minor league baseball)

In Houston it's clear the NFL's Texans are at the top, win or lose. The Astros and Rockets fall right behind, and their ranking depends on who's winning. After that, college football rules, with the biggest winner getting the most press. The last couple years that's been the Coogs, so Houston has been a Houston town. If the Coogs are losing, we fall down below UT/A&M/LSU.

Just my $0.02. Your perspective may differ.

In full agreement here ^^^

I don't see UH dropping from 3rd... In fact, as aggressive as UH has been as of late, facility improvements I mean, 2nd spot isn't far out of reach.

After Houston's new basketball arena is complete better recruits will want to play here... Sky is the limit for UH basketball.
