RE: Texas State for Charlotte? ... Barbecue and Doughnuts!
To bring this thread full circle, I think I remember a Charlotte fan mention that a tailgate staple for them was pork BBQ served on a Krispy Kreme donut. I haven't been to a game there yet to confirm but I'd try it.

There's a place that makes a donut burger. Sounds awful to me.

I've made one before. Its all about getting the right ingredients and textures together. Similar to Chicken and Waffles or a maple bacon doughnut, you need the right balance of sweet and salt, chew and crunch.
Cake doughnuts are the preferences of some because they offer a better density compared to their yeast brothers. Personally, my preference is the a yeast doughtnut with a light glaze. Next add a couple slices of crisp, thick cut black peppered bacon. The crunch of the bacon will play nicely with the soft doughnut bun. Add a 1/4 patty and top with a sharp cheddar cheese. If you want to fancy it up, could add grilled onions and apples to compliment the cheese.
Although, this bad boy has my attention

I live 20 minutes from the UNCC campus and I've never heard of that. But I might try it!

It was done at a rally bedore football ever started and maybe some people have don't it again, but I wouldn't call it a staple.
Green dyed gold schlager is a staple at the biggest tailgate, however.

I was in Charlotte a few days ago to spend some time with family, and on the way back, just for the heck of it, I drove through Charlotte's campus. I have to admit I was surprised at how nice it was. It definitely lacks a sense of history since it clearly was built in relatively recent years on either wooded land or former farmland, but it looked nice. Anyway, I can't get over how stupid it is that App flies out to to Texas for conference games, as Charlotte does from the same airport, but they don't play each either.
Meanwhile, Texas State is pretty isolated in SBC, but is surrounded by G5 schools within just a few hours.
Would it be possible to have a simple trade of the two schools?
Charlotte would have App, Coastal, and the Georgia schools in one division. Troy would get to join USA in the western division (and help to balance out the divisions competitively). Texas State would get to be among the other Texas schools, and UAB would get to return to the east, where it used to be.
There are other threads for larger scale realignemnt, but how about a simple trade?
I'll trade you La Tech and the Texas schools for USA and Ga State. That solves the Texas St being isolated and gets UAB to the east playing its old Sun Belt foes (UNCC, WKU, USA, and ODU).

Some GA State fans are smiling, it's not often somebody says we'll take the Panthers, but I can see why UAB might want to go down that road being the schools are two hours apart.

So the 10-team Sun Belt would subtract two schools and five, bringing the total to 13. Meanwhile, 14-team C-USA would go to 11.
You do know that CFP money per school maxes out 10 members, right?
The eastern SB members, plus, based on their fans' posts, Arkansas State, would hate this. Ark State and the eastern schools want more games to the east, not to the west.

No the belt goes to 14 and cusa goes to ten. I forgot to add Marshall as part of the deal. Yes I know about the payoff which is why I want CUSA to drop to ten
