Putin worked Trump
Hope that Don didn't give up nuclear codes. Our president didn't confront the Russians on their meddling. America is weaker.

RE: Putin worked Trump
Wow. That was the dumbest article ever. Putin came out of the meting with exactly what he went in with. His impounded property is still impounded. The US sanctions against Russia remain in place. The president stated firmly the US stands behind NATO's article 5. The fact Politico is unsure of such a bluntly worded statement indicates an IQ hovering in the mid double digits or a willful disinterest in plain English words.

What Trump got was the Russian acceptance of a US enclave in Syria---an effective no fly zone that Obama was too puckered up to create. What Putin, Trump, and the World got was a defusing of a volatile situation in Syria that could have ignited a larger conflict. The fact that Politico is unwilling to acknowledge that very basic concept is absolutely shocking. I feel dumber for having invested the time to read that piece. Its logic reads like it was crafted by a precocious middle schooler (one likely to be anchoring CNN in another decade).

As soon as I saw Trump bear grapple Putin with the secret "we screwed the Dems!" handshake, I knew that Putin had won.

I know exactly what it means. When you attempt to waste time and debate low level schit instead of actually doing things at a high level, that's obstruction. Simple stuff.

You want to speculate and scrutinize about what Trump said with regard to this petty schit amid a global chess match.

Johnny Zero wants to focus on the personal views of a Reddit user who posted a meme.

Some of you want to talk about global warming.

Another thread complaining that Ivanka took a meeting.

All insignificant crap. You just keep making yourselves smaller ans smaller. And you wonder why Trump wins.

RE: Putin worked Trump
This thread provides a real opportunity to compare how left and right leaning media treat the same event.

The linked Politico article would have everyone believe that Trump came out a loser with Putin. Other left leaning media castigated the President's speech in Poland.

So how did the right leaning Wall Street Journal treat the same speech and meeting? Here's a sanplimg (since the WSJ is a paid site, I've selected a few highlights):

Quote:The American and Russian presidents disagreed Friday over election interference and about the best approach to North Korea, but made tentative progress toward curbing the bloodshed in Syria’s long-running war.

Quote:But by raising Russian interference in a U.S. election, Mr. Trump made clear to Vlad that he’ll be dealing with the President of all the American people. That sounds like a positive outcome.

On the speech in Poland:

Quote:It was a grown-up speech that said serious things. Article 5, the NATO mutual defense commitment, is still operative. Missile defense is necessary. He called out Russia for its “destabilizing activities.”

Since the WSJ has one of the highest educated reader bases, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that the Journal was bit more accurate in their reporting and analysis.

Putin said Trump accepted his denial of election tampering. WH refuses to deny this claim. Our president just got cucked on the world stage.

That would be the view of someone that would trash whatever he said or didn't say. I guess Trump, should have held a presser and called Putin a liar.

If he had a spine he would. He ran as a tough guy and in his first meeting with our greatest foreign adversary he basically bent over and said be gentle. Capitulation of the Russians is not something I want coming from a president.
