I thought EVERY thread on the SBC message board was about Georgia Southern(that is one reason several do not post here anymore).

It's gotten better, now just every thread about GSU becomes about Georgia Southern.

I'm not going to overlook the fact that the Eagles won at community service. I have no idea how it's scored, but seriously, with all the service options here in ATL, we should be able to nail that one down every year.

(Yeah, I'm kind of being serious...)

Really starting to take shape now! Not sure how I missed this, or if I'm even correct here, but I didn't realize the corners (old center field and first base line) were going to be bowled in. That's going to look really nice.

Hey I was just being nice to Panama and their fans are the ones that had the meltdown. I must have struck a nerve, but as Panama said, let's get back on topic.

04-cheers Can we turn this into a barbecue post? Maybe talk about how the pizza sucks down there? 04-cheers

Did you guys have to do any updating to the suites, or club areas, or were they already nice enough to be serviceable for football season? Looks awesome though. Hope you guys find a cool way to use the RF deck.

Haven't heard much about the suites. I assume they were at least in good enough condition for MLB which I think has a higher expectation level than CFB. But I think little by little everything will get renovated. It's going to take a while and a few phases.

Yes, the suites are getting minor refurbishment. Mostly new paint and carpet as needed. A few of the larger ones are getting extensive work done to serve as suites for university officials, a couple of the smaller suites located near the 50 yard line on the home side are being torn out and replaced with a media booth for cameras and such, and Ted Turner's private apartment on the club level is being replaced with a couple of suites.

I hope they trick out CSE's office Cribs style and make recruits jaws drop.

Once the right field stands are demoed from the scoreboard to around first base, this stadium is going to look great. Congrats GSU on making a nice looking stadium.

Why not just hold the conference championships here? It would get y'all in a large stadium that is in a major market.

Because neutral site games for G5 CC games have are almost certain attendance fails unless you get lucky and have an instate team make it. The ACC championship neutral site game is a dud sometimes depending on the teams.

CUSA CC game that was at WKU only drew 13K, now imagine how bad it would have been if were out of state location for both teams.

As much as I'd like to agree with the Atlanta/GSU Stadium hosting idea, I think the top ranked/home field format is best in our championship game infancy. At least we know one team's fan base will show up for it. I certainly wouldn't mind it in the future but I don't believe the conference is there yet.

What I would like to see is a kick-off classic held there. Pit a top SBC vs a lower rung SEC or P5 school. Use that Hall of Fame down the street to our advantage. Borrow all that media and momentum in town and piggy back on the CFA Kick Off Game hype. Why let the Bama and FSU types get the attention every year? Bring in your Indiana, Illinois, Iowa St, MD type schools and face them off with App, Troy, or stAte. If the P5s won't come invite the AAC. We just need to make some noise for the conference, our brand of football, & GSU Stadium.
