Works for me. Be interesting to see how the revenues will split up for the 4 schools and whether the tickets will be part of the season package of home games for UAB fans

Wish we had a better opponent for this. Would make a better draw.

Wouldve thought we couldve landed a better program to play. Wouldve been nice to get Mike Anderson to come play us in Legacy or Haase or even Mike Davis then A&M.

Thought coach like for Trendon Watford to see him coach up close or Mich St or Zona to give a kid a home game.

It's not for a lack of trying. Coach Ehsan mentioned tonight they attempted to get several big name teams to play us in this double header and were repeatedly turned down. Eventually they had to settle with A&M, but it'll also be a reunion since Donnie Marsh is now their head coach.

And from an RPI perspective, it's better to play a bottom feeder at a neutral site than at home.

Ditto what was said. We just didn't get any takers. The main thing is this. We need to show up early and pull for MTSU to get a OOC win for Conference RPI sake. It will be fun. It will be good to see Coach marsh and I hope he gets a huge ovation. This is smart move by us taking some thunder from Minnie Pearl. He is using this game as a recruiting tool and I would love to see it at worst a neutral site atmosphere with Blazer fans pulling against the scumbag and kitty cats.

I'm glad we're in the doubleheader with Au @ Legacy BUT if we were going this route why not Samford (SoCon) or Jax State (OVC)??

Alabama A&M's (SWAC) RPI last year was 351 out of 351!

It's a nice dream, but the opposite is much more likely to happen. Auburn fans will be there rooting against us. That's what pearl is likely already telling them to do. Like you said, it's a recruiting thing and he isn't going to pass up a chance to embarrass us in our own town.

Samford is a very well coached team and I'm sure our staff doesn't want any part of them.

The hope is for this to be an annual event and involve other state teams. So maybe in the future this will occur.

Most Auburn fans are not going to hang around to watch the 2nd game just to pull against anyone. If UAB was playing in the first game...maybe, but with this set up there will be many more Blazer fans at the first game, than Aubies at the second.

So, what exactly is the setup?

So, what exactly is the setup?

Quote:Auburn, in head coach Bruce Pearl's fourth season, will play NCAA Tournament round of 32 participant Middle Tennessee.

UAB will follow up with a game against Alabama A&M, now coached by former assistant Donnie Marsh.

1st game - Auburn vs. MTSU
2nd game - UAB vs. AAMU

Most Auburn fans are simply that...Auburn fans, not hoops fans. A small number will stay to watch part of the second game, but just like happens at the C-USA tournament, the vast majority of their fans in the building will leave as quickly as they can at the conclusion of the first game.

1 ticket for both games? Season ticket holders get in with season ticket?

RE: Birmingham's Legacy Arena hosting doubleheader featuring Auburn and UAB
A double-header usually means two games for one ticket, but that hasn't been officially announced, I would be surprised if that were not the case. If there are separate tickets, there won't be any Auburn fans in the building for our game.

UAB hasn't announced that this game will be included, within the season ticket package, but the Hardwood Classic games always were, so it most likely will be.

Btw, this game will be a home game for RPI purposes. I think I saw where someone surmised it would be a neutral site game. The game will meet at least one, and maybe as many as three of the "home-game" criteria.

1. Game is included within the team's season ticket package
2. The team provides game management
3. Any game played within the team's metro area (and within 30 miles of its home arena) against a team from outside that same metro area

I'll be shocked if more than 50 Auburn fans hang around to see us ply A&M. That said its hard to get our own motivated so I doubt a large number will show up early to root for MTSU but one can hope.

We have a hard time putting quality games on our schedule and our staff doesn't want any part of Samford? We should stop scheduling 300+ teams especially if we can help it.

The coaching staff have proven they are not afraid to schedule good teams. I don't know what is being smoked by some posters.
