So there is a chance that Todd or Sumlin will be available when we start looking?
If Todd is available, we need to look the other way. (Although Rice is his dream job)

Why is it the real nice guys like that always get screwed? /sarcasm off
The only saving grace if Graham gets the boot is that he will have to transition down in his career.

Sumlin, though? do we want a guy who could not succeed with all those A++ QBs he had?
Or will we continue to look for the up and coming gem?
Would you *ever* advise a business who needs a long term stable partner to not just enter into a contractual relationship with an entity that had previously breached that contract, *and* subsequently breached every similar contract to climb the ladder?
Sorry, the core thread of Todd's being is wrapped up in that history. In context, the first time shame on you. The second, shame on me.

Prediction: Graham will be fired before Bailiff.

And, imo, that is an equally cringe-worthy (and likely) outcome.....

Just saying there are some who wouldn't mind having Todd back if the proper legal safeguards are in his contract.
No, i am not one of them. i didn't like him in 2006, even before he jumped ship. I didn't like him long before that.

Gosh, this is terrible news. Maybe we could hire him as a graduate assistant or something.

I like one of the comments
"He came in hard with a long dark tail winding back east. The program is quite possibly worse off now than before he arrived. Some think he’s a gigantic pain in the butt. And his attitude seems to suck. I’ve wondered over the last couple seasons how he’s managed to last this long."

I'm glad he spent 12 months at Rice. I'm glad he didn't stay 13.

RE: Todd Graham on the hot seat at ASU
Keep in mind that Todd Graham still has four years left on his contact. Given three sub-par seasons at ASU, it's rather amazing they kept rolling over his contract, but that perhaps reflects the tenaciousness of Todd.
ASU started last season 4-0, and then tanked the rest of the season, finishing 1-7. Given the tough slate ahead for 2017, I think the early San Diego State and @ Texas Tech games will need to be must-wins for Todd to survive the season.
Even though it will be a major financial drain with threes year left on the contract, ASU will probably fire Todd if he wins less than five games this season. Faced with a program spiraling downward, ASU would seek to make a clean break. Compare this with Rice's response to a program flat-lining under an over-extended Bailiff...

Funding is not the issue for Arizona State that it is for Rice. That's why revenue maximization needs to be the primary focus of the athletic department. It hasn't been for 50 years, but it needs to be now.

They were hoping he was side-negotiating during bathroom breaks but were surprised to find he was still there each time a week rolled by after executing the extensions.

Not TG related but I saw that former ASU football coach Frank Kush died the other day at age 88. Kush was the Todd Graham of his era, and maybe even more so but this was in the 1960's and 1970's when coaches could get away with more than they can today.

Frank Kush was just an overall a-hole, but remained ASU's a-hole in residence for twenty years or so. Graham is that, but he adds the taxi badge many times to his boy scout merit wall.
