Outgaining a team by 200 yards in a fluke win, sounds like P6 logic, you guys are AAC ready.

Another thread that quickly requires a height chart on the bathroom wall.

Yep...it was a fluke you guys gained that many yards. Proved that at your place.

It's the off season. We are not going to play next year. What else are we going to do ?

The AAC sent a team to a bowl game at home against us and got handled.

That says a lot about that league.

Well, you are correct. However, the LaTech and "P6" posters here are at a serious disadvantage as far as the height chart on the bathroom wall, if you get my drift. 02-13-banana02-13-banana02-13-banana

Bottom line the AAC is a hell of a lot closer to us than to them in more ways than one

RE: Jonesboro radio interview w/ king karl
App was the first school to figure out in 2014 that we absolutely SUCKED up front offensively and defensively.
It took 10 games for anyone else to figure out what had worried me all damn season and only school we beat the rest of the way was NMSU because they weren't strong enough up front to do anything about it. Crazy thing was, App was throwing too much the first half.

To this day I don't understand why Walt Bell called a pass on second and 7 with 0:55 left in the first half. Saved a timeout for App. We were averaging 6 yards a carry against App at that point. Ended up punting on 4th and 4 for 11 yards giving App the ball at the AState 37 with 36 seconds and App had a timeout left. Scored to cut it to a 20-13 AState lead and knew at that point we were probably going to lose took a crazy rally to get back into the game.

-Arkansas State/App State (Both gave the other embarrassing losses at the other's home stadiums in their first two meetings and with both finishing as co champs in 2016, I think it further makes a permanent match up all the more intriguing for both fan bases).

-Georgia Southern/La-Lafayette (They've only played one game so far but with both having a boisterous fan base, this has all the potential to turn into a fun rivalry)

-Coastal C/ULM (There had to be some type of "random" match up and that falls to the birds)

Yeah, but Appys win in Jonesboro was a fluke.

Kinda like Arkansas State's win in Jonesboro was a fluke vs Georgia Southern05-stirthepot

This whole P6 thing is ridiculous. It's like if North Korea announced that they will be attending the G9 Summit.

Five turnovers and still a win. No fluke ....determination!! Imagine how badly we would have beaten y'all without the turnovers.

5 turnovers to historically one of the worst Georgia Southern teams and a 4th and 20...we'll go with determination lol

Sun Belt needs AAC more than AAC needs Sun Belt. Of course Sun Belt Commish is going to be upset that AAC is trying to campaign for a different designation. AAC has no incentive to set its oars in the waters with the other 4.

The Sun Belt does not need the AAC at all. The reality is that you guys are stuck with us for the next 7 or 8 years (and probably a lot longer) whether you like it or not.

The issues becomes that a sensible arrangement between the G5 leagues to ensure strong bowl tie ins for all becomes null when one conference decides they can wish themselves into the P5.

We'll see you guys in a few years when reality finally hits.

If they were truly P6 the Big XII which is fighting to stay a legit P5 league itself wouldn't have said no thanks to every school in the AAC.

Y'all want to talk flukes? I don't know if this falls under the fluke or meltdown category (or both):

Arkansas State @ South Alabama 2015

4th quarter
South Alabama leads 31-20
12:33 - ASU scores a TD and 2PT conversion (USA leads 31-28)
10:08 - ASU scores a TD after an INT on the USA 33 (ASU leads 35-31)
8:44 - ASU scores a TD when USA fumbles in their end-zone (ASU leads 42-31)
7:16 - ASU scores a TD when USA throws a pick 6 (ASU leads 49-31)

Not only did ASU score 4 touchdowns in 5 minutes and 17 seconds, but 3 of them were set up by the 3 turnovers USA committed in 2 minutes and 52 seconds. Unfortunately this memory has not been purged and replaced with a better one.

I didn't know what the AAC was until ECU joined it.... to be fair I didnt know about the Sunbelt until App and GS joined. Paint me ignorant.

Of course you guys are going crush a P6 campaign by AAC. Its in your best interest that no one move up from their current static positions. This is especially true of the Sun Belt Commish. It does not reflect very very highly on him when Aresco is getting all the press for his league. Karl would be very happy to maintain the status quo as it means he does not have to answer to his own share holders.

Aresco is creating a narrative that the AAC does not belong with the G5. Its starting to work as many sports writers are saying the AAC is an in between league, which it really is at the moment.

In the end, a Sun Belt commish who is nervous about being left behind, will never publicly congratulate Aresco or the AAC for a job well done. Neither will Sun Belt fans but that is to be expected.

The GS game last year. APP the year before. The game you just brought up. Maybe stAte at this point is just very good. If only the pitch at the end of the LA game had just been a bit quicker. It would have been a great story for us to have won an outright championship on a touchdown run in by an O-lineman. Well stAte fans would have loved it.
