The way I read this negative article, it appears that calkins is quick to overlook a simple fact. Tubby wants his style of players and does not believe in one and done.

The way I read this article is that tubby thinks he's at Texas tech. He's lazy and that's all it is. Were paying him as though he's at an elite program, and you don't even try. If you make $30,000.00 per year you don't expect to get a Beyonce, or Britney spears, but when you got money and all the advantages you expect a Marilyn Monroe. This guy just lost me for sure. Who is paying this guy, and do they know he's senile?

You can't be serious. The guy said it himself that he's gotta be realistic. The guy has a championship under his belt, and some would say he's a future half of famer. Then he gets out recruited by St Louis, western Kentucky, and unlv. GTFOH. We are doomed, doomed I tell you.

No kidding - Gonzaga was #1 for a significant portion of the season and made it all the way yo the championship game.

Let me just add, if I were Tubby, I'm not sure how I'd handle some of the media here. I'd likely shut em down and cut em off. What's he got to lose at this point by doing that? Some are going to bash him regardless.

There's nothing false in that article. Tubby has said some really odd things lately. Most of them are extremely discouraging.

Pretty harsh and truthful. Tubby is getting paid too much to have this substandard recruiting.
Powers that be should make Tubby replace his staff, if we have another season like last year.
If he does not hire better recruiters, show him the door.

I will not accept mediocrity, when the coach is paid as much as he is.

And that, in a nutshell, is what this is about. If Tubby can't or won't recruit at a level that can and has been achieved at Memphis over the years - don't blame that on the 'Memphis situation' -- put the blame where it really belongs. The Calkins article made that too clear -
