Per NBC29-Charlottesville report today, Eldridge reportedly wants to find a program where he can develop his skills "beyond just being a deep threat". (their words, not mine)

The lawsuit and allegations against him by a former UVA player involving hazing was brought up in the short report as well (as was in the Richmond Times article you posted).

Agreed. Can't see him wanting to sit out yet another year by going the FBS route. He already used his redshirt year right out of high school.

He's 6'2.5" and 285. A bit undersized for a prototypical P5 guard (even though Florida State, Florida, Clemson and Auburn offered him out of high school). But would love to have him for next year!
