Man, Nats not taking any prisoners.

And Dodgers? Trying hard to fulfill my prediction. Happy to see Urias's result, even with the run scoring. He needs to be stretched out too. But this offense? Offensive.

All things considered, I'll take the split.

RE: 2017 MLB Season Thread
wow how about this:
With 16 runs on the board today at Colorado, the Washington Nationals now have scored 14 or more four times already this season. The other 29 teams have combined for six.

Colorado going into the last 3 games had in 20 games given up 74 runs. so about 3.7 per game given up. They gave up 42 last 3 games. So now have given up 116 in 23 games. Or 5.04 per game.

Nats with a chance to get up double digits on the Mets this weekend if they could sweep them. Only team in baseball right now further back than the Mets- the Blue Jays.

Nats lineup has been off the chain (do the kids still say this?)

the Nats in the Rockies series batted as a team .346. And that's with the Nats pitchers going 1-7 (but with 3 walks!) Nats regular batters batted a beer league softball like .355.

interesting- with the DL minimum stay reduced from 15 to 10 days, use of the DL up by 12% from the last 4 year average....

And Cespedes joins the ranks of the DL....

Nats with the luck of facing the Mets 1st 6 times of the season w/o seeing him at all. Or Thor. Amazing how baseball can work like that sometimes!

Also amazing how baseball takes those conditions and still ends up with Mets winning the first two games of the series. Didn't see that coming, for sure.

And now Adam Eaton with a torn ACL. Out for the year. That's a killer

RE: 2017 MLB Season Thread
So that happened. A few writers are comparing last night's game to the game in 2006 when the Dodgers hit 4 HRs in the 9th and another in the 10th to beat the Padres. But I thought of a different game: August 21, 1990. Phillies @ LA. 11-1 Dodgers at the end of 7. I had to get up early so I was laying in bed listening to the game on the radio. Dodgers give up 2 in the 8th and then proceed to allow one of the greatest comebacks in MLB history in the 9th. I listened to every pitch and actually had trouble getting to sleep that night because I was so irritated and incredulous. So last night kind of took me back to that. Not the same, hardly resembled payback, but still REALLY fun.

Tony Two (Four?) Bags is back! Incredible game, even if the last homer was off a backup catcher. 6-6 increased his avg about 30 points.

um the 6-6 game increased his average from .226 all the way up to .278. OPS up from .566 all the way up to .767. Just insane numbers.

um the 6-6 game increased his average from .226...

Yep, I misread it. It did seem like 30 points was too light for 6-6 this early in the year.

Harper sets MLB record with runs in April with 32. Breaks Larry Walkers 29 in April 1997.
