If their administration goes along with this insanity.

Absolutely ridiculous. I'd say no way it happens, but I'm sure some dumb*** will think it's deserved.

That's why adults run universities and not student government associations.

Ah.

Well that's the difference between having ideas and paying for programs.

Great, more "symbolic" actions by kids that can't handle the real world. What's sad is that they are SGA leaders.

C'mon WKU......

Beats the annual "demand more close parking" resolution.

I think this goes to show that an understanding and actual consideration of economic factors is disappearing in those areas where people are in public policy decision making. These may just be college students right now, but as those kids become adults and enter the real world, they are not likely to be any more educated on economic matters and understand how to quantify the social agendas that are out there.

Looks like the same silliness that SGA was noted for back in 1988 to me. Only difference was in 1988 it was apartheid in South Africa and the investment of the school endowment.

So they're saying that students of other races should have to pay to send black students to school just because those students were born black? Sounds pretty racist to me.

Sort of the status quo isn't it. Other races can be racist. The white heterosexual guy can't and shouldn't be. Sometimes it would be good to get that respect too.

RE: Take WKU Off My Preferred Conference List
“I have read the SGA resolution, and I understand that their intent was to spark a conversation, but the university will not adopt any such policy,” Ransdell said. “I’ve spent much of the last year engaging in dialogue with black student leaders on campus, which has led to a greater understanding and appreciation of their experiences and priorities.”

This is not even going to be considered.

I'm all honesty, I wouldn't have been surprised if this had happened at App State. This is just how college students think in 2017.

Guys I think you are missing what ought to offend you and should be of greater concern for our future.

Buying the idea that there are only two paths. Path one being college and personal economic security from college and path 2 being not college and economic insecurity.

There are thousands of unfilled good paying skilled jobs that don't require a college education.

I am far more worried about 18-22 year olds thinking everyone who doesn't go to college is doomed to poverty or near poverty than I am about their desire to make things right in the world.

If you are giving free college to every ethnic group that White People have horrifically exploited, you have to extend the reparations to Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans, and White People.

Obviously these little pansies didn't have their asses whipped enough as children.

As a 27 year old, I must say, I'm completely and totally ashamed of the millennial generation.

Grow some fuzz on your peaches, take responsibility for your own future, and stop expecting a handout just because you think you're entitled to it.

Define "well paying." You're going to be hard pressed to find a well defined path to the upper middle class that doesn't require a degree anywhere along the way. Those paths exist, but they are narrow as all get out. You basically need a college degree to be a shift leader at Burger King these days.

Also, no, I think it is a far more offensive to suggest that I should be put at an economic disadvantage because I'm a straight, white, young, Christian, male. The one demographic that is socially acceptable to discriminate against.

Defining a moving number is pretty difficult. If your willing to move you can find work that provides "the things" of the upper middle class without a degree. The path should be narrow. Just because there seems to be so many "upper middle class" doesn't mean you get to be one. If you can't find work it's because you're sitting on your ars not serving someone.
