Verno also roasted JP while he was on the radio, therefore, problems within the program persisted prior to TS arrival. No matter how the masses or biased media try to spin it. Go Tigers!

We turned one bad hire into two. Some will refuse to admit it until year 3 or 4 of this failed experiment but that is the simple truth.

Memphis is a unique job and takes a unique candidate. Not sure anyone currently associated with the athletic department understands that.

Turned one bad hire into two??? This is laughable and a complete distorted perception.

Sleaze required, I guess?

Did I misinterpret the post, I definitely am not in favor of any type of sleaze?

The good news is that as long as my time on earth does not end in the next two years we will all get to find out. The bad news is that as long as my time on earth does not end in the next two years we will all get to find out.

This will get better under Tubby. This will not reach what should be our level of expectations under Tubby.

Exactly, FUT

Agree. Hit the nail on the head. Best case is he gets it back on solid ground for the next coach.

Holy mackerel. This is major market radio? I've been in the industry for years, and I did stuff like that in college. When I listen to my old shows I cringe at what I thought at the time was good. Those fellas will likely (hopefully) feel the same one day about that bit.

I expected to hear something at least entertaining, and would willingly laugh if it was well-written and executed well, regardless of content.

It was none of the above.

You are a fool if you think Memphis should have been punished for what the NCAA punished us for.

You can say what you want about Calipari, but the specific violations the NCAA cited Memphis for are dumb. What was Cal supposed to do, hold him out even though he was cleared?

I would love to know your expectations for Tubby's future at Memphis. I have seen you defend him in almost every thread on the board. I think it was a bad hire because I do not think he can lead the Tigers to a sweet 16 at any point in the future. My standard for Tiger basketball is to reach the tournament at least 3 out of every 5 years and to make a sweet 16 once out of every 6-7 years. If you look back through history, that is not far fetched. I do not have much confidence that Tubby can do that with the way he runs his programs. I really hope I am wrong. I am sick of my Tiger hater friends being right about Memphis basketball and its place in the world

Didn't say that.

We were punished because Cal was guilty of something, they just couldn't prove it. Do you really think Rose took that test in Detroit? Cal just got sloppy.

One of them is a Tommy West defensive tackle. Made me sick to my stomach when I read about it.

It took Cal longer than 12 months to get to a sweet 16 at Memphis. Pearl is on year 4 and still around.500.

Turned one bad hire into two??? This is laughable and a complete distorted perception.

I am sick of my Tiger hater friends being right about Memphis basketball and its place in the world
I hope you're wrong too. If you are correct about Tubby the proof will be shown in the next two seasons. Until that unfolds, I'm holding out criticizing him.

It took Cal longer than 12 months to get to a sweet 16 at Memphis. Pearl is on year 4 and still around.500.

yes i understand that

Winners both. Just win baby.
One went to jail, both had wins vacated.

They are not winners they are both crooks.

You are a fool if you think Memphis should have been punished for what the NCAA punished us for.

You can say what you want about Calipari, but the specific violations the NCAA cited Memphis for are dumb. What was Cal supposed to do, hold him out even though he was cleared?
Didn't say that.

We were punished because Cal was guilty of something, they just couldn't prove it. Do you really think Rose took that test in Detroit? Cal just got sloppy.

I could not care less if he took it or not tbh... college basketball is a skeezy sport. go watch Rhodes basketball if ya dont like it
