Jason and John have interviewed Joe before. He is cut from the same cloth as Pastner. Super hype, uber positive, into the self help catchphrases.
Joe seems to have a genuinely great personality. I love his positive outlook on life.
Like I said, if you like Joe you would love Pastner.
Joe is not Pastner. I'm not obsessed and/or heartbroken over his departure. It's insane to continuously obsess and long for a guy who was responsible for sending the program back to irrelevance. I'm not privy or apart of the "Pastner, come back" psychopaths.

Nowhere is there any statement about my obsession for Pastner. You know (cough) how I felt about Pastner the past few years.
I was simply explaining that Joe, just like Pastner, is tied into self-help/catchphrase stuff, is SUPER positive, and extremely hyper.
Those are not criticisms or praises, merely drawing similarities.

Sadly, these radio defects at 92.9 are using their platform to spew hatred and unrest regarding the coaching situation at Memphis. They can't find a clue or know what the hell they're talking about? Tubby won't tell them every time he takes a leak. Small town radio hokes who can't make it to the big leagues.

My first thought. Rumor was one year ago he was on his way here to be on Pastner's staff in some capacity, then Tu8bby was hired.

They had an assistant on every week during the season
Until the losing streak
Then they stopped wanting to come on

Actually I have heard we are a joke around the nation and people are asking if we miss Pastner.
I'm hearing the exact same thing. It's so embarrassing and pathetic. If I'm the marketing director, I initiate a marketing campaign to create a new fan base willing todonate to the university, ignite and redefine season ticket subscribers, promote the basketball program in a positive light (in lieu of all the dramatics), etc. This is long overdue. They have the audacity to wonder why the p5 conferences do not want to add Memphis. Tubby is known all over the world. This kind of negative spotlight on the fan base is not healthy or warranted. The recruits are aware of it as well.
I would love to hear your plan for that... Despite, what many think, Memphis actually has a pretty loyal basketball fan base. And I have no idea how you "create a new fan base", especially considering the state of the program today.
I work minutes from the University of Arkansas and my parents have been season ticket holders for at least 15 years. Under Pel they could not give their tickets away and the University was literally giving tickets away at the door to try and get as many people in as possible. That is a school with the "palace of Mid-America" arena, with an "undivided" fan base (only major University in the state, let alone not competing against pro franchises), and that has a NC on their resume. Attendance issues with a crumbling program is not unique to Memphis by any means.

Tubby will probably cancel that position and slide the extra dough over to Saul for all his hard work turning over D2 stones.
