Worst interview ever

I'm confused, Keelon just said....

1.) He and his children would still be at Memphis if he was an assistant coach and get what was "promised" to him.
2.) The decision to go to Kansas is to do what's best for his children.

How does that not blatantly contradict one another?

Oh, and he didn't have his "papers" the first time around to be an assistant coach in college. Interesting.

We'll be mediocre for the next two years, that is obvious - however, it's time to get the garbage out of here and rebuild with integrity. I know many people lack integrity (as seen on this board), we weren't winning at a high level with them, it's time to hit reset. The program is bigger than the sum of it's parts and especially that family getting paid to recruit four players over the course of seven years while offering zero in return and essentially holding the program hostage.

Honestly, he sounded very reasonable and I understand him and these decisions more so than before the interview. Clearly, there are issues with the Memphis basketball coach

Parrish is going to need some mouthwash after that interview with Lawson.

Some of you in this thread are a complete joke. The man said that his kids decided to go to Memphis to help their dad achieve his goal. He said that they would stay if things stayed as promised. The boys going to Kansas is all because the Memphis program is in no position to help them achieve their goals and the program went back on their word to their father.

He also said that he was ready to bring not only his kids but other Memphis kids into the program because he spent the time and built the relationships. We had a gold mine in Keelon Lawson and this stubborn old man came here and collapsed the mine for what??? So his alcoholic son could be on the staff and not do a damn thing. If u want to go around slandering peoples name at least have some proof of what you claim.

The current staff effed this up. Doing it their way just means 2 years from now we'll be a 17 win club and missed the dance for the 5th straight year. Revenue will continue to be down and recruiting will still be mediocre. All he has done is sealed his fate of being bought out. The question is when.

It didn't have to be this way. Keep Keelon as a AC and have a pipeline to a multitude of players. It really is simple.

I don't care where the kids come from, as long as we win. I'd say Tubby has two years to right the ship. If he doesn't, I'd say he is gone. Until then, I'll support him.

Why is it that when white people use family members it's a connection, or who you know? Same instance a black guy does it then he's pimpin his kids. These kind of deals didn't start with keelon, nor is gonna end. Im willing to bet the next coach, because there will be a next coach after tubby flames out will find a way to get those two younger Lawson's and keelon on campus. Tubby, and Rudd messed this up plain and simple.

Can you give me an example of a white dad pimpin' his kids? Seriously, I am hard pressed to get an example in Memphis or D1 basketball. Maybe in football? Seriously, I cannot think of an example off-hand of a white dad getting an DBO position so that his kid could be recruited. Maybe a white coach - that I can think of plenty of instances.

Yea, we do need someone like him out there . That man knows how to get thing's done----however his brother is a FREDO with zero loyalty for him.
