Question there are still 2.5 weeks of classes remaining .Are they still in school taking classes or have they dropped out? If they are academically ineligible for not competing classes how will it effect their ability to get financial aid at the new school.

Tubby should offer to pay their airfare.

They will struggle to play at KY, too slow. I wish them well.

I know a few people who would rather pay Orlando's air fare.

I am sure they are finishing out the semester.

Agreed. It's incompetent in my book.

Disagree. Turns the kids into victims. National media always takes the player's side. Stretches out a bad story.

They aren't going to an AAC school anyway.

Set wrong precedent with Nichols. Give the "kids" a vision of real world. Decisions have consequences.

Feel Keelon was forced out but have to have some consequences for leaving.
Bull. Coaches are free to quit a school and take a job anywhere else in the country with no penalty. It is ridiculous to hold kids to higher standards than coaches, they already have to sit a year no matter where they go.

Two players in the last 30 years have averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 blocks.

Tim Duncan and Dedric Lawson. Dedric is an awesome college basketball player.

1st rounder then! Great wish him well in the nba.

If not we will see how he hangs with the competition at KY, or wherever he plays in college next year. My guess is it will be somewhere that is lacking in team competition.

He has been coached well, he has a good head for basketball, but he is unathletic.

I was actually thinking he would "grow" out of it, but I don't think that is possible now.

Is that what I said? He's a good player, just leave it at that. None of us have any idea what really happened. But being that there are only now 2 maybe 3 players left from last year's team, you have to put some blame on the coaching staff.

The kids should have the opportunity to play where they want to play. Schools should not have the ability to limit their options.

One of the best college players in the past 30 years was an NBA bum in Laettner.

Some folks refuse to understand that you don't need lottery picks for college success.

Mateen Cleaves won a title. Khaled El-Amin won a title.

Etc.

Christian Laettner made the all-star team as a pro and played 13 years in the league. He averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds/game over the course of his career. Hardly a bum.

Someone like Calbert Cheany or Ed O'Bannon would be a much better example. Laettner had game

Tyler Hansbrough comes to mind more recently.

We had CDR. One of the best scorers ever to play at Memphis. He just didn't have a game that translated well to the NBA. Tyler Hansborough, 3 time consensus All American, one of the great college players of all time, and he's playing in Fort Wayne right now.

You can be a great college player and just not have a game that works in the pros. You don't have to be a star as a college player to make a name in the NBA if you have the right combo of talent, athleticism and size.

I never said Dedric wasn't a good player. You said Dedric was an awesome college basketball player and then made a comparison to Tim Duncan because of their stats. I jumped to the NBA but I should have kept the comparison to college.

Duncan was the centerpiece of some really good teams at Wake Forest that made some decent runs in the tournament. He was surrounded by really good talent, played in the ACC and still put up those kind of numbers. Dedric stuffed the stat sheet on a team that didn't have much talent, put up good numbers against the American Conference and his teams weren't even borderline NIT teams.

I wish Dedric Lawson the best wherever he winds up. I even hope he makes it professionally but he doesn't compare to Tim Duncan on any level.

I've heard others say this - not sure what you mean. Are you looking for someone with those exact stats lines? Because there have been plenty double-double guys over the year. Heck, the great Kenneth Faried averaged 15-12-1-2-2 over a 4 year career.

Dedric is a good college player. He's not Tim Duncan and he's not in such rare company as this claim intimates.
