I expect Cuse to go 6-6 or 7-5 this year which will be a decent accomplishment playing arguably the toughest schedule in College Football. They won't beat Top 10 teams but teams around the Top 20-35 better not overlook them this season.

What Dino Babers did at Eastern Illinois was unbelievable. That's one of the more remote, unattractive locations for a D1 program in the country - I'd say the worst in the midwest. It was easy to see then this guy was a rising star.

No...He is the head coach at Syracuse. Why would he go to Illinois?

All I know about Babers is he coached one half of the teams responsible for playing the very worst football game I've ever watched in my life.

Last year, during Pitt's 76-61 win over Syracuse, I was beside myself with frustration. The defenses in that game were so horrific that it lasted two-and-a-half days to complete. It was incredibly frustrating.

It was such garbage football I just couldn't stand it anymore so with about five minutes left in the fourth quarter, and Pitt seemingly comfortably ahead, I went next-door to the Carnegie Science Center just to escape the agony of watching any more of that abject garbage.

Naturally, the final five minutes of that football game took an additional hour to complete.

My wife asked me why I was so pissed off? After all, Pitt won. I told her because I just don't have patience to watch such a horrendous defense. I actually like watching team's stop their opponent every now and again. Also, I love football but even I don't want to be at football games that are four-and-a-half and five hours long.

I understand that people put up with that garbage in the Great Plains states – and perhaps Central New York as well – and they will convince themselves that it somehow revolutionary or innovative, but I'm not putting up with it.

Coaches that seem hell-bent on turning all of these games into five hour marathons are bad for football and I hope they fail.

Holy over-reaction Batman. You saw a Cuse team riddled with injuries and playing a walk-on QB. It set a record for most points. It didn't last 5 hours. Don't worry, you'll score a lot less this year...and go home with a loss.

Yeah, Pitt was really banged up too, I get it. Both teams had horrific defenses to begin with and they were each hurt. Still, I would rather watch Pitt lose than to have to sit through that garbage again.

I'm sorry if that offends you but that was honestly the worst college football game I have ever endured in my life. It was just plain garbage on every level.

And this is coming from someone who just a few years ago traveled all the way down to the shitt hole that is known as El Paso, Texas to watch Pitt lose 3–0 to Oregon State. Even that was less painful to watch than last year's Pitt-Syracuse game at Heinz Field.

As for Syracuse beating Pitt, I wouldn't be surprised. You're certainly due to win one of these years. How many times in a row have we now beaten you? It seems like we beat you every year and we're not even any good.

Yup we're due...our series is weird. Each team goes on runs of domination...against the other. I think at worst it actually becomes heated...or at best for me...we go on a run of wins.

BTW, offense in a Dome kinda makes sense.

Who from the B1G would want him and could get him? Maybe Penn State - possibly Nebraska.

I have no doubt that Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Michigan State could get him if they wanted him, but I don't think that any other B1G schools could. And OSU, Michigan, MSU, Wisconsin, and possibly PSU are set for coaches. And I don't think that Nebraska would want him (I'd imagine they're watching Scott Frost).

Some SEC schools could possibly make a move.

I'm sure that Garappolo gaining age, strength, and experience from soph to junior and then senior had nothing to do with it.

BGSU won the MAC the year prior to Baber's arrival. He then won with the previous coaches recruits. All of his teams play horrible defense and try to outscore everybody. It worked in FCS and the MAC. Not sure if that will work in the ACC.

Has BG been spread offenses all the way back to Urban Meyer?

Agreed...but Babers still won. He even won with a 2nd string QB for basically the whole season in Year 1 @BGSU. The thing about his offense is he says it doesn't usually click with the kids until midway through the 2nd year. We'll see this year.

Bison is correct the QB does make the team...very heavy on the QB in Babers offense. You can't have a mediocre QB. Cuse has a VG QB returning off injury (Dungey) and if he stays healthy I expect them to get 1 or 2 "Upset" scalps this year. Arguably no one plays a tougher schedule than Cuse in '17. It is insanely stupid hard. If Cuse was Top 10 team it makes sense...but they need a few more baked in wins...not 11 bowl teams on a 12 game schedule and 5 of those Top 15 type teams.

We have Florida kids coming every year. We are always in the fight for the Top NY and New England kids and we seem to grab MI/IL kids lately.

You'd do well to focus on NY and New England players.
