RE: Maddie Appeal Denied
Prediction:
Graham will be the QB and do a great job this year. I think he will relax now that he feels it's his position to loose. I really like the young man and I just got this feeling about him. I know we all hope I'm right. Only time will tell.
Coach Carey needs to show Ryan that he is his man and move on. No second guessing just go make it work. Just my opinion.

I prefer another option, I say let the best QB play, and that would not be graham

Nothing against Graham but he does not have the physical tools to run NIU's offense. It's been blatantly obvious for quite some time.

So basically he was denied eligibility b/c the NCAA allows redshirts and punishes you if you transfer. So he was denied by the NCAA because the NCAA sucks? cool.

Devastating news. If Graham is the QB we are in for a terrible season.

Graham shouldn't be subjected to the abuse anymore. Head injuries are no joke and he takes way too many big hits to run this offense. This is going to be an incredibly long season

Deep breath...3 questions:
1) Who on this site, at this time last year, would have thought Maddie would have been as effective as he was? Point...let's let the QB's develop and perhaps we get one to perform at a high level.
2) Why the complete lack of respect for Graham? He struggled at times, but he also, under difficult circumstances, has stepped up in his brief career. One thing for sure, he has never backed down; his attitude, preparation and work ethic may prove to serve him well.
3) What, in 6 quarters of collegiate football, would Santa had to do to earn the respect and confidence of the loyal NIU fan base? He won two games, and were it not for a dropped 50 yard, perfectly thrown pass, would have passed for over 300 yards in his first start.
Maddie' s red shirt decision is unfortunate, but it's an opportunity for someone to emerge; let the situation play itself out...Go Huskies!
I thought that Santa started slow but was showing continuous improvement. I think that he could beat out Graham but I am hoping that he will be pushed as well.

His first game against EMU he was not at all accurate; but gained nearly 100 yards
rushing. Against KSU he threw the ball well. Not a bad first 6 quarters.

I do think this might have to be a situation where marketing and other factors have to play into this somewhat. At least with something unknown fans can fool themselves that there is some reason to watch or go to games. We know what Graham is, we know his limitations and given the lack of talent around him, that just spells certain doom.

I hope Hall proves me wrong but at this point, I don't think he's mature enough to lead the team.

The NIU website lists him as 6'2", 200 LBS. If he is that big and quick, that's a scary combo. That's bigger than Lynch, and Hall is faster.

Mature enough? Give the kid break we have seen nothing regarding his decision making ability. Arm strength.? That's a different story.

Hall has not been around the team much at all until tuesday. He has been dealing with some non football issues. So i would say he is a long way from compeating for a QB1 spot. Ryan is our guy at this point. But i love the New look running attack #unbalanced edge attack

Good to hear about the run game, will really play in nice with Huff and Jones who both have big play ability IMO. Hearing Graham is the guy already is not good for next season.

Exactly. There has been some decision making questions and I'm guessing that is why Carey isn't including him in the QB1 conversation. Give him some time and the summer to improve and maybe he matures enough for fall. Arm strength and size don't equal maturity.

So you are assuming that Graham has already beaten Santa out for the starting position?
