Trump Approves Keystone Pipeline
#Winning
Quote:he Trump administration gave the Keystone XL pipeline its key federal permit Friday, clearing a major hurdle for the project that former President Obama rejected in 2015.
The State Department announced Friday morning that its undersecretary for political affairs, Tom Shannon, issued the permit, two months after President Trump signed a memorandum to revive the project after Obama’s rejection.
“In making his determination that issuance of this permit would serve the national interest, the under secretary considered a range of factors, including but not limited to foreign policy; energy security; environmental, cultural, and economic impacts; and compliance with applicable law and policy,” State said.

He is doing this against court orders. The ranchers, Native Americans and others brought a lawsuit to block the Keystone Pipeline, and the judges ruled in favor of the plaintiffs and the oil company lost. This is going be a land grab and the ranchers will stand up to Trump like they did in Nevada and Oregon against Obama.

The alignment doesn't go thru native lands.

I love that the healthcare bill ran cover for this. Progressives have been hopping up-and-down high-fiving Ryan's stupid bill that never made it to the floor when president four dimensional chess just lubed them up.

Good. It is basic economics. Increasing the supply will have good consequences for consumers.

Increasing supplies not for us. It will be shipped to Europe, and none for us. The pipelines are owned by a Canadian country, and Trump sold us out to Canada.

First building the pipeline will create constructions jobs.
Then the oil will flow to a refinery in the US which will add jobs and add value. If the gasoline is ultimately exported, then that will help our trade balance.
Since gasoline prices are based on the world market, any additional supply will reduce all prices, ours included.
No matter how you look at it, we win.
The only losers are the progs who are against everything.

Oil still follows the laws of supply and demand like any other commodity.

What will go to Europe is diesel, not oil or gasoline. Heavy crude makes more diesel and demand for diesel is greater in Europe. The purpose of the pipeline is to get the heavy crude to the Gulf coast refineries, which are set up to handle heavy South American crude. The big loser will be Venezuela.

Keystone pipeline won't use US steel despite Trump pledge
Outright lie, taken out of context or you and the writers know nothing about contracting. Your choice. Probably a little bit of all 3.
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/03/ke...ion-235639
Quote:Trump signed the order calling for the Commerce Department to develop a plan for U.S. steel to be used in “all new pipelines, as well as retrofitted, repaired or expanded pipelines” inside the U.S. projects “to the maximum extent possible.”
NEW, retrofitted, repaired or expanded... do you know what that means? Also note the last 5 words. KXL procurement contracts are already in place.
FWIW, 75% of the pipe for KXL was purchased as of Jan. Still have valves, stations and other steel structures. you don't just throw what's not installed in the garbage and you don't start procuring American pipe for a contract that is almost complete. That would lead to MASSIVE damages to KXL and open us up to billions in lawsuits (on top of the mess Canada is already after).
https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/most-keys...el-j-weiss
Bottom line is that Trump ordered American steel for FUTURE pipelines. KXL is owned by a PRIVATE CANADIAN company so they aren't required to meet any "buy American" quota. If you REALLY want to go down that route call your boy, Obama.
Serious question... WTF do you do for a living?

35 > 0... The 35 is up for debate. You deliberately picked the lowest estimate.
Increasing the supply typically drops prices.
This is the kind of post I'd expect from a Bernie-economic illiterate.

Haven't we been over this already? Yea, pretty sure we have.
The pipes for this particular pipeline were manufactured and stocked years ago awaiting approval of the permits etc. Should they simply scrap tons and tons of pipe and start over?
https://www.google.com/search?q=stockpil...1r5e2jndM:
As to your other lame-ass "point" below, would it be safe to assume you live in a house or home of some sort?
If so, answer this- after construction of said dwelling, how many permanent jobs did that create? How many permanent jobs does any construction project create? Stupid argument.

Then your president is a liar!

Quote:Once the pipeline opens it would require only 35 full-time permanent jobs to run it, and 15 full-time temporary jobs, according to the state department report. TransCanada, the company seeking to build the pipeline, does not dispute those numbers.
