RE: UCF TAKES DOWN 1 SEED ILLINOIS STATE TO HOST Q-FINALS
Illinois State fans were a particularly whiny bunch. EVERY call or basket that didn't go their way produced crying from the stands.

One of their fans also launched a bottle at a ref after the game ended but apparently missed.

There are a lot of great Redbird fans, but during this run the bottom of the barrel fans have come out as more and more questionable behaviors from the team seem to bring out more wuestionable behaviors from the fans.

I like Coach Muller, but feel he took at win at all cost, and next year will pay the price for it.

Sounds like a newbie that doesn't know what the NCAA Tournament is all about as it has NEVER been about the top 68 teams.

NCAA only selects their top 36 choices as 32 of the teams get auto invites for winning their conf tournament over 3-4 days, regardless what their record or RPI were during the season...Hence why so many low rates teams get bids in the tournament.

illinois state are a tournament team and got screwed by the selection committee. They are also very tough to beat at home, winning 20+ straight. I do feel they let off the gas pedal a little bit coming into the 2nd half but ucf fought all the way back for a great win. Refs were fine, calls were made going both ways. Their crowd looked great on TV.

Illinois broke open a close game vs Boise State in 2nd half to win going away so #4 ZUCF will host #2 Illinois on Wed night at 7 pm on ESPN2.

Thanks again for Illinois to pre-book a Broadway play in their arena on Wed night, hence why UCF gets a home game tomorrow night.

This was the first time since 2006 where all #1 seeds were knocked out if the tournament before the Final Four.

Not a newbie, those other teams got there before you did. There are 68 teams in THE tournament, all other tourneys are irrelevant. Was there when UC won its first Title, win a real tourney game before you start criticizing me. Lighten up, Francis. UCF playing in NIT belongs on a UCF board.

Most Ironic part is Illinois State has been BEGGING Illinois to come play them at their arena (or anywhere). All they had to do was win, and they would have gotten to host their in-state "rival".

No need for the back and forth. Figure we can all agree that UCF stepping up our play on the court is good for the league as a whole. 04-cheers

Or your comment was bull****. It's funny how certain fans want to poo poo anyone who has success outside of their alma mater.

Congrats UCF, great come back in a hostile atmosphere. Only AAC team still playing, hope they win the whole thing. Again, congrats.

Illinois is seeded higher than us. We won't be hosting anything.

Yes we are. Illinois has a scheduling conflict.

What a difference that last play made. If BI didn't get fouled or score otherwise

- Matts college career ends on a turnover
- BJs season ends on a foul
- Our last home game was in front of a bleh crowd

Whew

Tickets are available now...

The Illinois arena was already booked for a musical or something, I'm surprised they didn't find a different local arena to play in or work with the NIT to change the time, but their loss is our gain.

And you took it in the context in which I wrote it, UC gets to hang a Sweet Seventeen banner. This started in Cincy when Xavier made its first elite eight and was the last team beaten and all they talked about was how they made the Final Five. Good luck to UCF in the future, seems like some people are somewhat touchy.
