MyBB Were Your Expectations Met This Season?
The answer for me is no. Like Tubby, (Source) I expected us to be a postseason team.

I was fine until the last two weeks. Those games really have me worried.

Pretty much. I did not have lofty expectations but I certainly did not expect to watch them roll over the final few weeks and suffer a 40 point beat down to SMU and then finish the season getting rolled by 30 by UCF...

The overall record seems ok, not great, but ok until you look under the hood.

The way the season ended with the team quitting on Tubby is extremely disturbing.

No, my overall expectations for how the season would play out and how the team would develop were not met. I'm very disappointed with this season and he direction of the program.

RE: Were Your Expectations Met This Season?
I expected a 4-5 game win improvement based on coaching. So no. Tubby gave us what most expected. Question is, if most expect less next season, does he do his best to make sure we meet those expectations? Seems he is content with that result.

RE: Were Your Expectations Met This Season?
It's probably not fair question to ask that now based on the collapse in the last two games, but did they meet expectations? Yes and no. Wins and losses aside, I expected better play down the stretch. Maybe the minutes took a toll, I don't know. Maybe there were other factors at play. Either way, while his first season ended poorly, I still think Tubby will make a positive impact on the program.

Yes and no.
I figured 19 wins.

But I also figured out guys would play with focus and fire for a HOF coach.

Im really sick of the HOF coach thing. He was a good coach when he was at Tulsa, Georgia and early years at UK. But that was nearly 20 years ago.

Yea it really gets old the HOF Coach stuff.. Heck he won a NCAA Championship with Pitino's players and then didn't have to recruit to get the best players in the Country for the next 8 or 9 years.. Besides winning the NCAA Championship just being Kensucky got him the best players.. Don't feed me the why couldn't Gillespi do it then, by then recruiting had gone downhill and Billy was a drunk and couldn't handle the pressure anymore much like the players weren't coming to Kentucky under Tubby at the end of his tenure and he also couldn't handle the pressure anymore.. Tubby is or was a good bench Coach but has never been able to recruit like the big boyz nor does he try to IMO!! I like Tubby he seems to be a great man but I didn't like the hire and figured and still do that he will not be successful here!!

No. I woke up this morning with a touch of that feeling I had after the championship game...the one that felt like the city of Memphis had died.

I thought at least 20 wins. Maybe NIT bubble. I didn't expect to lose by 200 in the final 2 games. I think something happened during that 2nd UCF game.

I can't believe we're even discussing this.

We fans must be so beaten down that we've quit.

There's a lot of Opie hangover left and Tubby didn't do anything to energize the fan base because he doesn't get it.

I can't look at Tubby as the sole issue...He started out much better than he finished. I have to look everywhere...lol...like at the top of our Tiger food chain.

It's obvious what Bowen gets. He was hired to make FB great again, and he launched himself at the BB program's budget, among other things. Guys like Bowen thrive on controlling something..lol.. not that there's anything wrong with that. Somebody's gotta be AD.

But I don't think Rudd 'gets it' either. He was gonna have Calipari honored at the Forum.

The antichrist-Calipari feeling amongst the Memphis faithful might be termed juvenile, but it is still there.

The fact Rudd did not know how many BB fans felt about Calipari was shocking. This proves to me he did not get it.

So what do we have left here? A coach who doesn't like our expectations? And a team that went into denial--lost it's will to compete.

All the athletes I've ever known compete like eff till the end.

I can't believe I keep ranting. I'm gonna owe you two bottles. lol

I expected the year would end with a loss, so I guess expectations were met.

RE: Were Your Expectations Met This Season?
My expectation were very low as soon as I saw our 'best players' attempts at playing defense. After watching us shoot the basketball from the perimeter, all expectations were lost.
