Quote:This is why the globalists – the Clintons, the Obamas, the John McCains, and the Lindsey Grahams, along with the radical left wing of the Democrat party - desperately do not want President Trump to make any sort of deal with Putin. This is why they are hammering on any shred of prior relationship with Russia on the part of anyone associated with President Trump.
That’s why they are desperately trying to create this fiction that Russian influence was the only thing that tipped the election away from Clinton.
If that alliance is established, it would be the most severe blow to the plans of their anti-nationalist global jihad.
Senator Sasse from Nebraska has a reasonable request. His statement...
"The president today made some very serious allegations, and the informed citizens that a republic requires deserve more information," Sasse said. "If without [an authorization], the President should explain what sort of wiretap it was and how he knows this. It is possible that he was illegally tapped."
"If it was with a legal FISA court order, then an application for surveillance exists that the court found credible. The president should ask that this full application regarding surveillance of foreign operatives or operations be made available, ideally to the full public, and at a bare minimum to the U.S. Senate," Sasse said.

I have no idea what is and what is not the truth of this current situation. But let's say for a moment it did not happen.
That said.
IT WILL HAPPEN if we continue to allow secret courts with secret warrants and secret searches. It WILL HAPPEN to some Presidential campaign of some party. Power is abused. Secret power is really, really, abused.
We have to do something to make sure that we have no Star Chambers making secret rulings that nobody is allowed to talk about.
That is exactly what should be so concerning to everyone about this.

Imagine if a Republican was president and Clinton got tapped with the excuse that they were looking for Russian connections with the Clinton Foundation.
Levin is laying out the case that the past administration spyed on American citizens using reports from the MSM right now.
Interesting to note...the two orders to request FISA surveillance — one in May that was refused and a narrower one in October that was approved — were both ordered when everyone expected HRC to win the presidency. If these requests to spy on American citizens were eventually uncovered, they would've have banked on President HRC not investigating.
Horrible miscalculation on their part because…she's not president.
Quite frankly, if this statement is literally true, then Obama and the white house were derelict in their duties.
Thought the same thing.
We do in fact know the above statement is an outright lie though. They did in fact order surveillance on American citizens. And Trump better too.
As for doing it to Trump, they better have had a damn good reason. The truth of the order needs to come out. And one or the other administration should suffer the consequences.

Depends on your definition of "White House official."
Obama clearly had plenty of political flunkies scattered throughout the bureaucracy that had no morals or ethics or respect for the constitution.

So you think the American public will accept an administration spying on the opposition party, even if the president has no direct knowledge of it (again).

"...All that is certain is that we are witnessing a homegrown attack on a sitting president, most likely by elements of our own government and most likely for purely partisan purposes.
If true, that would be at least as un-American as anything the Trump people might have done in communicating with Russians.
In that context, we cannot ignore an ominous warning the top Democrat in the Senate issued before the inauguration. At that point, Trump already had made accusations that intelligence officials were leaking secret information in a bid to deny him the presidency.
“Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you,” Chuck Schumer said on television. “So even for a practical, supposedly hard-nosed businessman, he’s being really dumb to do this.”"
