Media Matters
Nothing to see here.

Media Matters has already secured access to raw data from Facebook, Twitter, and other social media sites. We have also put in place the technology necessary to automatically mine white nationalist message boards and alt-right communities for our archive. We will now develop technologies and processes to systematically monitor and analyze this unfiltered data. The earlier we identify a fake news story, the more effectively we can squash it. With this new technology at their fingertips, researchers monitoring news in real time will be able to identify the origins of a lie with mathematical precision, creating an early warning system for fake news and disinformation.

During the 2016 election, Facebook refused to do anything about the dangerous rise of fake news or even acknowledge their role in promoting disinformation: Mark Zuckerberg called the notion that fake news is a problem "crazy." In November, we launched a campaign pressuring Facebook to: 1) acknowledge the problem of the proliferation of fake news on Facebook and its consequences for our democracy and 2) commit to taking action to fix the problem. As a result of our push for accountability, Zuckerberg did both. Our campaign was covered by prominent national political, business, and tech media outlets, and we've been engaging with Facebook leadership behind the scenes to share our expertise and offer input on developing meaningful solutions.

Indeed, another thing that he was right about.

Well, I don't use Facebook or Twitter. Mainly I avoid them because I don't care what people have for dinner or what their kids new school pictures look like. Nice to know there are other benefits.

Its amazing how much of a bubble they live in.

Its stuff like this that caused many of us to vote for Trump. They try to blame anyone other than themselves. Guess they learned lack of accountability from Obama.

http://mediamatters.org/about

From their own words-they are basically fascists:

Media Matters for America is a
Web-based, not-for-profit, 501©(3) progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation
in the U.S. media.
Launched in May 2004, Media Matters for America put in place, for the first time, the means to systematically monitor a cross section of print, broadcast, cable, radio, and Internet media outlets for conservative misinformation - news or commentary that is not accurate, reliable, or credible and that forwards the conservative agenda - every day, in real time.
Using the website mediamatters.org as the principal vehicle for disseminating research and information, Media Matters posts rapid-response items as well as longer research and analytic reports documenting conservative misinformation throughout the media. Additionally, Media Matters works daily to notify activists, journalists, pundits, and the general public about instances of misinformation, providing them with the resources to rebut false claims and to take direct action against offending media institutions

An example of their type of truth-NY Times calls Trump a liar:

https://www.nytimes.com/2017/02/21/opini...ef=opinion

But WaPo report shows that Trump was telling the truth:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worl...a8e0208229

They want 1984 thought police with only their chosen voices being allowed in the media.

And their lawyer Max Maccoby, who sits of the Board of Friends of the Orphans, part of a network that has homes all over Latin America for orphans. Like in Haiti where Huma's friend got arrested for trying to smuggle about 32 kids out of there.

I seriously doubt machine learning algorithm can differentiate fabricated news versus legitimate news. Truth and lies can't be differentiated by looking at average word length or the frequency of certain characters or comma usage patterns.

None the less, the prospect of media matters being the ministry of truth should send a chill down any reasonable person's spine. This is a group that doesn't even pretend to be unbiased.

The relationship alone would have buried a conservative.

So what's the issue again? They search conservative media and report fake stories and correct the record citing facts along with supporting documentation.

Oh...I see...they don't allow you to spread your bull****. I see now what the issue is.

Carry on...

Except for the simple fact that Silsby has no relationship whatsoever with Huma. But don't let that stop you.

What they do is match the article with the person writing and make assumptions. Or they compare it to HuffPo and NYT articles and label it unacceptable if it doesn't agree.
