It's hard to compare when there's no DI subdivisions in baseball and when it's much harder for teams in non-major conferences to win national championships in football.

Sooner or later some fans will figure out 1AA titles just don't stir the pot over here. More impressed with winning SBC titles and bowl games the new guys have won.

South Alabama is the only Belt team that currently has a winning record against us in men's basketball since we joined the conference. Does that make us one of the top basketball programs in the conference? Nope.

I'm not sure I like the idea of UTA being picked so highly. At first glance. I was shocked. Looked a little closer and maybe the divisions in baseball kinda mirror the dynamic in volleyball. While certainly not nationally, the west does look on paper to be less competitive than the east. I don't know what TXST is sporting this year to make them look so low in the polls, but I would put the Mavs over the two Arkansas schools and ULM, so I guess it isn't that far off.

The coaches' poll was exactly the way I predicted it last week in another thread.

And, here's a suggestion: How about we keep baseball threads about baseball? Those of us who love the game don't really give a crap about your football prowess this time of year. There are plenty of football threads if you want to do that.

UTA is in Nacogdoches, TX to take on SEMO (twice) and at Stephen F. Austin (twice)
Little Rock is at Oral Roberts
CCU hosts a tournament playing Richmond, Western Carolina, James Madison and St. Johns (Mon)
Georgia State hosts a tournament with Marshall, Western Michigan and BYU (Mon)
Texas State hosts Purdue in a four game series
Arkansas State hosts New York Tech in a four game series.
USA hosts Eastern Illinois.
Troy hosts Xavier
ULM is at Dallas Baptist
Georgia Southern plays host to Middle Tennessee
And Louisiana is at a tournament at Southeastern La., playing the host school on Friday, Murray State Saturday and Hofstra Sunday. (Originally scheduled as a three game series vs. Hofstra, moved to SELA because of Russo Park renovations.)

Don't know about the rest of you, but South Louisiana has temps in the 70's with good weather scheduled for next week.
