Teacher Berates 7th-Grader For Wearing Pro-Trump Shirt, Compares It To A Swastika
[Image: mn15l0.jpg]

So what do you do when it is a teacher bullying your son at school?

Quote:A Kennewick middle school teacher landed in hot water when she pulled aside a student wearing a “Build the Wall” shirt.

The language arts teacher at Chinook Middle School compared the shirt’s message with wearing a swastika.

Now, the young teen’s mother is hoping her son’s experience shines a light on political bullying.

“It does happen,” said Michelle Fischer. “I think (politics) should be taught in our schools, but only in a two-sided positive way.”

Fischer posted her outrage over the teacher’s handling of the issue on Facebook and the story went viral.

Conservative talk show host Sean Hannity shared her story to his 2.8 million followers, contributing to more than 100 comments on Fischer’s original post.

What school system has not banned this stuff already? It is one of the best things about school uniforms. I see nothing productive about berating the kid for it though. His parents are the ones that need berating. You can almost bet this is on them.

I agree on the uniforms and on banning this shirt which was, I think, intentionally worn to offend. If my kids school did not have uniforms you could bet I would not let them wear this to school.

Our education system is so backwards that "appropriate action" probably means this teacher will get a public slap on the wrist and a behind the scenes handshake and promotion. The left just can't handle it when someone has a different view, and will do everything they can to suppress them. Under no circumstance is it acceptable for a teacher to bully a child. She should be terminated immediately.

The parents defended their kid's free speech rights. Good job.

The best thing about school uniforms is that they infringe everyone's free speech rights equally.

I agree that the teacher should be reprimanded for her comments. The school system needs to have a come to Jesus moment about its dress code. Before we went to school uniforms we already had a policy against wearing any clothing that was political, provocative or caused classroom disruption.

Of course his views are shaped by his parents. Just as yours, mine, most others. But there was nothing wrong with him wearing the tee shirt, or the words on it. Or his mother buying it for him to wear to school. That's the job of parents....

to shape their kids minds. Once they get at a certain age kids start to form their own opinions. Then it's the job of the parent to give their views but to let the child form his own opinions and views important to his life.

The sad fact is we have teachers that can't accept the rights of the student or the parents.

The best thing about school uniforms is that you don't have to spend a ton of money every year buying new clothes that they outgrow in 3 months. People complain about uniforms until you have a child in the system for a year. Then suddenly...you love them.

I cant recall anyone caring about politics in the 7th grade. It was about sports and girls as I recall. This whole thing is about the parents. They both need a swift crotch kick for allowing this BS in the first place.

Absolutely nothing wrong with him wearing the shirt. Just with the people critical of it. Its a proud expression of American freedom, just as an "I'm with the crook" (or was it I'm with her?) shirt.04-cheers

Just because you were apolitical then doesn't mean everyone is. I remember paying attention in 4th grade and a lot of attention in 8th grade.

I would never allowed my daughter to wear that to school no more than I allowed her to wear provocative clothing. I got called to school because she had on shorts that were too short per the rule...and I had previously told her they were "borderline" and not to wear them. She though I was going to defend her when brought her a change of clothes. She was sadly mistaken. It did not happen again.

I agree that the teacher was out of line handling this..but..If this child is SOOO ready for all this free speech? Then he might need to toughen up a bit in preparation for criticism. This is why school systems institute bans on this stuff. It is a never ending problem with no solution that only distracts from trying to teach.

As her parent you have that right. But is that the same way she views it or are you forcing your views on her? You don't have the right to how other people raise their kids. Not unless it infringes upon your child.

Then it's your choice to explain to her the issues or remove her from it and close her off to different views and opinion others might have..

Ah...the worst government agents are the minor ones. Little martinets strutting around with their little rules....checking for thongs at the school dance....suspending people for a picture of a B-52....expelling someone for a shirt with a picture of a statue holding a fake gun....expelling someone for grandmas butter knife in the bed of a truck.....banning people for wearing cornrows

Yes kids, get in your little uniforms and don't you dare express your beliefs.

I taught my kids that their Liberty does not cease at the classroom door and to stand up for their rights against overreaching BS.

Come try to crotch kick us.

7th graders...today...Just like in the past echo the views of those that raise them. That has not changed a bit...but...you are correct. I was too busy playing sports and chasing girls to care about politics.
