I think there's a seperate UMKC board somewhere. They've never been interested in joining the rest of their WAC brethren, remaining isolated just like the school is geographically

They keep hoping for something better. Here is a link to their board.

They beat GCU, yet only have two posts on it.

RE: 'Roos...?
It's only natural for rabid fans of a mid major program to hope that the
y get bumped up to a better conference. That being said, UMKC is facing stiff competition for that new MVC slot if in fact the MVC decides they need to replace Wichita.

If for some reason UMKC does go elsewhere, the WAC has some interesting options to consider and one of them is very close to metro KC

NW Missouri State this year became the first Division 2 program in history to win the national championship in football and hoops. They are located only 25 miles northeast of KC.

Since the start of Division 2 football they have been the most successful program at that division.

They've had 19 playoff appearances. Played in 10 Division 2 title games and won 6 Division 2 National CHampionships including the last 2.

If the WAC ever wants to reconstitute itself as a football conference, NW MO ST should be a consideration. Obviously there would be growing pains and a financial cost for a move up but considering their succeess in D2 and proximity to a major market, the WAC could do alot worse.

Another program for future considerations is Lindenwood. The only scholarship football program in Metro St Louis and a fast growing enrollment in an age where most university enrollments are declining. They have the largest undergrad enrollment of any D2 private U that has football. Obviously some growing pains and additoinal financial cost here but the WAC could do alot worse than adding a program in a large market like St Louis

I don't really understand. They have a fairly active, up to date board. Their discussions aren't bad. Their MBB team was relevant this year (their softball team is good most years....I know, I know...) I'm not sure why more aren't here other than RooUp (I think that was his handle)

I found this and thought it was a pretty interesting post:

If they're looking to expand in the Midwest (depends a lot on UMKC and CSU), then Lindenwood geographically would be good. Like you said, in metro STL and very easy to get to. Though not sure what would be worked out regarding football.
