our super bowl
the tide has churn. the players are acting in opposite roles. only years removed from being in the same conference, now in a subservient league. i've never had a problem with how everything sorted itself out. made sense for x to join the big east. they've grown exponentially, pun not intended. and i admit, they are kinda sweet. it's probably acceptable for a hipster to follow x basketball.
anyways, this was the first game i've watched on tv or in person in well over a few years. i usually listen to dan and chuck. three dudes huddled over an ipad made for a most pleasurable viewing experience. but watching those boys play, i remember why i fell so head over heals for this team. they came out to play tonight.
i'm sure mick told them to play to the whistle

To anyone connected to UC, there is nothing sweet about the gangstas from Norwood.
There are way more people in Cincinnati connected to UC.
There are also a good number of UD fans and they hate XU too.
This team could be special. Enjoy the ride.

It definately feels weird caring so much about this game, but when you lose 3 in a row and the other team is putting together top 10 recruiting classes it has basically become that way. Hopefully the tide can start turning and we claim our rightful position as big brother.

Mack might want to start recruiting some big men to match up with Gary and Kyle in the paint.

Sir Lush is sayin' our Cats have come full circle after leaving the Big East (or the Big East leaving) and they have adapted in a weaker league to become the crème de la crème of the AAC. On the flip, Ex got to join a superior BASKETBALL league and has since fallen to the middle of the pack in their league. Lush had a most enjoyable viewing experience with some buds watching our Cats prove to be the superior team on the court and Mick had 'em ready to play. At least that's my take.

RE: our super bowl
I'll admit that, because of the scarcity of quality games on our schedule (and the wealth of them on theirs), this has probably become a more meaningful game on our schedule, than for them. When we have only so many top 25 type teams to play, we need to take every advantage we can get.
There is also a particular amount of delight from this win, mainly because we have not recently done too well in this series.
But, let's don't go calling this "Our Super Bowl". We have much bigger aspirations, than to simply beat one particular team once a year, and always have. This, regardless of what side of the tracks our program resides.
I guess if you want to like Xavier, and consider them "sweet", hey, free country...

Bolded; I think you nailed it. It was time to end that three game skid against brand X. I truly believe this year is an aberration for the AAC. The bottom of this conference may remain pretty awful. At the top though: UC, SMU and odds are teams like UCONN, Memphis and Temple bounce back and will all be competitive and/or ranked again by next season.

I believe we are starting to turn the corner in bball to being a more entertaining team to watch. That coupled with the recent signings and new arena should bode well for the future.
