I'd put coastal in the 80's or 90's.

Coastal and ULM won't finish that low.

I don't think any of them will finish that low. Only C-USA had that many schools below 120 in the final Massey Ratings and I don't expect the Sun Belt will take over that role. Sadly....the perception of Sun Belt football persists.

Four programs in the bottom 5...from the conference that finished third in conference rankings in 2016.

I know you are kidding but I thought you guys looked pretty good when you played us. Do you lose a lot of seniors?

yeah, typical media attention for the sun belt.

It's all good though. It takes time to change long term perception, and we are heading in the right direction.

Wow we kill it in bowl season ranked higher than the MAC and CUSA, nipping at the MW heels and still nothing.

Guess its a marathon and not a sprint on changing perception.

Typical CFN and then two teams will end the season Sub 55 and 4 will end up between 60 and 85.

I'm not kidding. We will be lucky to win 5 games next year.

If HUD let's out new OC run the offense he wants I think we could surprise some people...our schedule is brutal though. I think we could have a much better team next year with equal or worse record.

Schedule: ULL and TXST both scheduled Tulsa before they got good. Two SEC teams? Not a good job by your AD.

New OC: Great coach, great guy.

I can buy Coastal is a little low, but we know how little respect FBS newbies tend to get...

I wouldn't have Texas State and ULM much higher if I'd have them higher at all.

The question is which conference will have the highest rankings in the conference.

Why should Coastal be ranked any higher? They've never played an FBS schedule? Not knock. You have to prove you deserve respect before you get it. And I think they'll prove some things this year.

I am biased as a ULM fan obviously. 125 is pretty low IMO. We were 5 points away from 6-6. WR is actually one of our betters positions and decent depth. Both our QBs return, picked up 3 JUCO DBs, Texas Tech OL transfer who Sat out, JUCO LT 6-7 330 offers to Big12 and Pac 12 chose to come home to Monroe,we picked up Derrick Gore RB Bama transfer, we return all of running game. Gore was a walk on but played some and should produce for us.

Interesting to see why some don't think we should be ranked much higher.

Not saying we're winning conference or anything but we will be better that 125.

Agreed with the ranking - we are new and unproven. Hopefully we can get up to speed quickly but with our conference schedule I wouldn't be surprised to struggle a good bit.

I agree ULM should be trending up based on what I have seen out of them.

I said the same thing our first season when most pubs ranked us in the bottom 10. Got to prove it on the field and when you do that they will take notice.

Don't know is CC will have first year impact like Ga Southern had but I also don't think they will be a bottom 10 team.

I think APP, ARKST, TROY, and GS are too strong for them to have a GS type year. Idaho, USA, and ULL will be strong this year as well. The SBC is on an uptick this year so the timing may not be great for CC.
