RE: Miami's New Football Facility Open
I'd say at a minimum they are mid tier P5 facilities, probably higher than that because they are brand new.
Maybe 20 schools have built better facilities but not many.

Pretty sweet. Suck on that AAC
It's really nice, but other than being a little larger and having a slightly nicer locker room, it's not that different than ours. We put in a $10M addition/renovation to our practice facility in late 2012.
I have no idea what everyone else in the AAC has.

I know SMU, Navy UConn and UCF have pretty swanky digs. Houston just put a bunch of money to upgrade theirs this past year.
Someone earlier posted this is a top 20 facility in all of CFB. You guys must not be keeping current with what the P5 schools are building with all that extra media revenue. The elite programs like Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee etc. have unworldly facilities. Even the lower tier P5 football schools like Indiana and Minnesota have built new state of the art facilities and I know Duke and Wake Forest are working on new posh digs right now.

Wait, this sweet addition that doesn't have anything close to a full-sized field?

$27MM for a brand new facility >>>>> $10MM for a five-year old one.
I'd guess Houston probably is better with a basically new stadium, maybe UC with their recent renovations to Nippert, perhaps another school or two. But this new building, plus a year-old IPF (which one NFL scout said was the nicest in Ohio) puts us past almost all of the G5 and the really low P5s like Kansas. Kitton insisting that we're top twenty is ludicrous, we're way better than we were when Martin took over (probably bottom ten around 2013) but it's not like we're sniffing Texas or Oregon.
Next steps are building suites and renovating the press box, then maybe adding a brick facade to the stadium exterior over the eighties-style concrete to improve the aesthetics. Of course this is all moot unless we keep up the momentum and become MAC contenders year in and year out, but now that we're no longer the cellar dweller of the MAC East it won't be too difficult for Martin to keep improving our recruiting classes without competition from Fleck anymore.

Miami is a tough out on the recruiting trail.. Now with the facilities even better Miami has a run in them.

What in tarnation is that?? A horizontal 20-yard indoor facility? What a complete waste of money that looks like.

You'd think they'd have a stellar Red Zone offense.

$10M was just for an addition. The total facility is about $20M accounting for inflation. The facility is about 16 years old, which isn't terribly old. I'm sure they'll be another $10M phase in the next few years.

That's not our practice facility. That's our old student pavilion that was repurposed to allow football and other sports to practice indoors during inclement weather. It's going to be knocked down to allow for the stadium to be built. The administration decided it would be better to just repurpose that facility rather than spend $1M+ on a temporary bubble.
Practice field:
$50M student rec/basketball practice facility renovation/addition:
We also have a $30M student health and wellness/student rec facility opening this summer:

No, this is our practice facility:
The student pavilion is our secondary practice facility, not our main practice facility.

So P6 doesn't necessarily mean better facilities. No indoor in PA...brrrr.

Actually, all MAC schools have one of those. They're called on-campus stadiums. Don't you guys have your Spring Games with standing only?
