The silence of this coaching search is deafening
Given the state of this situation... I'd think we'd be hearing SOMETHING! Wheatley following recruits is hardly anything to drive speculation.... not getting any meetings that have been setup... validated names being kicked around by the Admin... nothing!

Today's Saturday - it's the weekend. Chill.
If we haven't heard anything this time next week: Panic.

Im questioning the lack of anything... We are watching recruits fly out our back door and nothing. Tweets from the administration indicating things are looking good... phones are ringing... have some great leads... anything.

And let's not forget KB is dealing with pneumonia. I'm sure they're working nonstop on it.

Next week at this time? That's an eternity and unacceptable. This should be 75% wrapped up by Tuesday. The two or three finalists should be identified one way or another. Another week and we will lose the entire recruit class and possibly some current players. I personally expect some type of news by tomorrow night.

I'd heard KB said that they wouldn't rush a decision based on racing against the NSD clock. Probably just a throwaway quote. But sounds to me that the administration is at least prepared to write off the 2017 class.

In other words, I won't be shocked if it's next weekend and there's nothing announced.

Quote:An athletic director always has a list," Beauregard said. "It's a list that some days you hope you can go to and some days you wish you weren't necessarily going to. Timeline-wise it's critical because we're talking about a signing day less than 30 days away but I'm also not going to risk a hire based on that if it's not the right Bronco to come in here."

Personally, I would rather have the right hire than a fast hire.

I have no concern with the we are not going to rush this comment. Rush would be offer somebody on campus the job today and not look into other candidates. I may like some of the coordinators we have, but would they have a good list of assistants to hire after PJ cleans the rest of the house? Yes in athletes Kathy has a list for every job. Good way to look at it, is hurry but don't rush. I am sure they will have news early in the week. Still hoping for Les Miles

Its a small pool to choose from. It doesn't take a week to narrow the list. To have 2 or 3 on a short list by tuesday or wednesday is not unreasonable. I would expect final interviews to be wrapped up by friday at the latest. This isn't rocket science.

01-lauramac2 Don't bring up common sense. It flies over the heads of the instant gratification millenials. Of course they are working on it no stop. How dare they not share it all with THOSE IN THE KNOW on a small webpage.

Why hasn't an interim been named? Why haven't current recruits been contscted yet? Our newb status in this type of situation is painfully obvious. We might end up with a great hire, but this interim time not our best moment.

Were you around when Cubit was fired and Fleck was hired? It didn't happen overnight. No interim head coach. Trust the process. I doubt some (MOST) of the names that have been thrown around on here are even interested.

I'm hardly a millenneal. I'm 50 and own a medium size company. I know what the appearance of no one in charge looks and feels like. Someone needs to say SOMETHING and fast.

I don't envy KB right now. If it is indeed pneumonia she is dealing with, I know it all too well. I was in the best shape of my life when I contracted pneumonia (while I was in the Army), and it still hospitalized me, knocked me out of commission for the better part of a week. So for KB to be handling all this crap at the same time...phew...she's a trooper.

That being said, there has been no interim named. No word of who the administration has been in contact with. No list of interviews being set up. Are our recruits being contacted? What have our current players been told? There has been zero information since Fleck went wheels up to Minnesota. I have no doubt that our people are working tirelessly on the coaching search, but right now it feels like there is so much silence for a reason...the administration was blindsided and completely unprepared. I have no way of knowing if that's true. That's just what it feels like right now.

Believe it. This was in the can before the cotton bowl. No interm doesn't concern me. Frankly it gives me the impression a decision is forthcoming sooner rather than later

Dead on. Appearances say a lot...even if it is unintended.
