RE: KIFFIN to FAU
Previous coaching staff invested a lot of time in finding a JuCo QB. Did they give up on Driskell and Parr?

Healthy competition is never a bad thing. Driskell and Parr did not exactly wow anyone, although Driskell, I felt, clearly made some strides in the second half of the season.

Additionally, DeAndre Johnson is a different type of a QB than what both Driskell and Parr are. If you think THAT is surprising, think of this - two more QB have now been offered by FAU in the 2017 class.

QB's with 35 offers out of high school they don't fall in our lap everyday.

Except he didn't fall into your lap. Your OC recruited him and administrators vetted him for some time. He's a great get, just wondering what that says to a junior QB and a sophomore QB when you OC gets a JuCo QB.

KIFFIN to FAU
It says we went 3-9 for the third year in a row so no job is safe. Pretty rational

RE: KIFFIN to FAU
Congratulations FAU on the hire of Kiffin and the recruitment of Johnson. Don't pay any attention to the hate. Virtually all of us have episodes from our youth that makes us cringe when thinking about it. Everyone deserves a next act and although I'm a Marshall fan, I'm rooting for these experiments to succeed.

Not our OC anymore. Both coordinators and six total coaches were fired today. Cleaning house.

Trolling is your job, not mine. For the past 3 years you trolled anyone who suggested FIU would have more wins than FAU. Then end of season you pulled the old "we played a lot of young guys" excuse. 03-lmfao

TV Analyst Butch Davis put a lot of 2 stars and 0 star athletes in the NFL.

Make sure to send Butch a thank you card, if it wasn't for his hire you would have another year of Charlie.

Let me end the discussion here as it seems to be a distraction.

BP was available as a HC because of off the field issues but was a great coach. Kiffin is available because he has failed as a HC on previous occasions. Kiffin has a name and that is the motive to hire I suspect.

Apparently Lane hired Chris Kiffin (Ole Miss' DL coach), his brother, to be his defensive coordinator and Charlie Weiss Jr. (Alabama's offensive analyst), the son of Charlie Weiss, to be an assistant

Anyone think Bama cutting him loose of the staff now is FAU HC duties related or something else?

Was wondering much the same. Just watched Nick Saban interviewed on this subject. Seems like a risky move for Saban to dismiss Kiffin during the week of the NC game.

I'm not a Kiffin fan per se, but Kiffin called a fantastic offensive game against Washington. Could Saban actually be jealous of the recognition Kiffin is receiving?

Saban = Satan. As anyone in South Florida would testify.

Bama fans never liked Kiffin. A friend told me today that a Bama fan he knows "is convinced Kiffin was horrible because he only put 24 on Washington." I don't know why you'd be complaining about a 24-7 victory over a conference champion in a semifinal, but that's Bama for you.

Bama fans think you should run the ball 90% of the time, and Kiffin didn't do that. You can't satisfy Bama fans. They went undefeated and broke 40 points in 6 games, 30 in 10. Yet, they still hated their OC.

Someone on the radio today said Kiffin called his worst game against Washington.

Kiffin will be much happier in Boca Raton, where the fans may be fewer, but they're far more reasonable, I'm sure.

As far as why he "left," the reason they're stating is that he couldn't do both jobs at the same time.

I think Kiffin's style of offense will be accepted much better by fans in Boca Raton.

RE: KIFFIN to FAU
Kiffin has a lot of faults, but I think Bama fans greatly underappreciated what he was able to do. In three years he had three different quarterbacks and I'd say all of them exceeded expectations. I'm really curious to see how he does at FAU over the next couple of years. He's definitely entertaining.

RE: KIFFIN to FAU
I would also like to see what happens with FAU defense under Kiffin. Our offense had showed signs of approaching decency late this season. But when you score 56 and still lose by three TDs, offense is, obviously, not your problem.

Saban and Kiffin never gelled at Bama and I think he wanted to get rid of him sooner (hiring Sark as a backup plan and wanted him out of spotlight for a year before taking over for Lane). I think the poor offensive playcalling vs. Washington and Kiffin going to FAU gave Saban a good excuse to finally just cut ties with him.
